Sunlight peered through the blinds draped over the window. I opened my eyes slowly and looked around the room. A white t-shirt laid crumpled on top of a few magazines and various books. I quickly came to the realization that last night did in fact happen as an arm pulled me closer. He was real and he was laying in my bed.
"Good morning" Alex whispered in my ear.
"And a good morning it is." I responded and he kissed me softly on the cheek.
I rolled over to lay facing him and looked into his big brown eyes. I smiled at him and hoped deep down that this moment would last forever. I hoped I could remember it forever down to ever last detail. Like how his cologne lingered from last night and how the sun was starting to rise. Everything about that moment was perfect.
"You're beautiful." Alex said.
"Oh stop." I said as I blushed and laughed slightly. There's no way I could look remotely good in the morning, especially since last night.
"I will not stop because it is true." Alex said as he pushed a few strands of hair from my face. I smiled at him.
"You're just too sweet I suppose." I said. I turned away from him and reached for his grey t-shirt that was on the floor by the bed. I slid it over my head and sat up.
"Okay I can see what I have to make for breakfast, I might have some eggs." I said.
"Or we could stay in bed." Alex said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me back into bed.
"I do like this idea." I said as I smiled at him. He kissed me softly on the lips.
"Good because I could stay here all day."
"Okay while we lay here," I said while turning to open my bedside drawer, "how about you read over this." I reached into the drawer and pulled out a notebook. I opened it to the first page and handed it to him.
"What is this?" Alex asked as he skimmed over the page.
"Its a story I've been working on, though I don't think it's very good. I would like to have your opinion, as long as you're not too harsh."
"I bet it is great, and I'll be honest."
"Um before you read it, I want to tell you a little about it." I said while looking at Alex. "It's a short story about a girl whose mother gets killed. Well she gets killed in front of her. It's heavy, but I think you could enjoy it."
"Sounds interesting." Alex responded while skimming the page.
"Okay while you read I'm going to go to the bathroom and freshen up." I said and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'll miss you." Alex said.
"You're so corny." I said with a small laugh.
"Thank you." Alex said.
I got up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom. Still not fully comprehending what happened last night. Also thinking of the article I have to have done in a few days. I never pictured my life to be like this. I thought coming to L.A. would make life worse, turns out it made it so much better. I looked in the mirror. Oh gosh, I look like I've been hit with 5 busses. How could anyone think this was beautiful?
Alex was just too sweet and considerate. Then again maybe he really did see something I have always neglected to see. I guess I've never really felt beautiful, but with Alex I feel different. Sure it sounds incredibly cheesy, but somethings different with him.
"I've got to something about the way I look." I whispered to myself. I glanced around looking for my hairbrush. Okay now to find some face wash because this whole makeup look from yesterday is not working.
"You know, I never expected the Alex Turner would be laying in my bed reading my story." I yelled from the bathroom.
I heard Alex laugh from the bedroom, "Expect the unexpected."
I laughed, its almost unreal. After washing my face I looked in the mirror, better but still not the best.
I walked out of the bathroom and sat back down on the bed.
Alex looked up at me and smiled. "This is really good, you need to publish it."
"You really think so, you're not just being nice because you want morning sex too?"
Alex laughed, "You're funny. I'm serious, it is so good. You definitely need to publish it."
"I don't know, I think its alright but I'm not sure if its good enough to be published." I said while skimming through the pages.
Alex turned and put one hand on my face, "Its great."
I sighed, "I guess I believe you."
Alex squeezed my cheeks slightly and kissed me.
"So what about you, any new songs brewing in that mystical head of yours?" I asked.
"There's a few, you'll just have to see what happens."
I let out an overly dramatic sigh, "You just hate me don't you?"
"Yes, that is precisely it." Alex said as he pulled me down on the bed. He raised my arms above my head and held them against the bed. "Can I take you up on that offer of morning sex now?"
I smiled "I thought you'd never ask."
