Chapter: 8 Project

"Hello class! I hope your weekend was fantastic but now its time to get back into school!" Chisa piped up as she entered the classroom.
The students grins lit up the room and their eyes shimmered with curiosity.
Of course you'd expect students to groan in agony due to all the paperwork and math equations to do throughout the day, but for the ultimates at Hopes Peak, there was always something unexpected.

"Alright class! Today we are going to start up on a project!" Chisa announced as her pupils as they patiently sat in their seats.
"What kind of project is it gonna be, teach?" Nekomaru asked as he watched Chisa pass out a sheet of paper to every student.

"Good question, Nekomaru!" Chisa boomed as she passed the last sheet to him.
The class read through the sheet and looked back up at their teacher with their faces scrunched up with confusion. 

"It just says "project" on it. What gives?" Akane complained as she looked at the back of the sheet only to find nothing else.

"That's because you get to make your own project!" Chisa chirped as she placed her hands on her hips.

"So, It can be...Anything~?" Teruteru asked as blood dripped from his nose. 

Everyone shot him glares as he wiped away the blood.

"Well...It has to be school appropriate of course." Chisa said as she rubbed the back of her neck.

The classroom was filled with murmurs and secretive whispers.

"And this is going to be a partner project! So partner up everyone and work hard!" Chisa said with a grin as she looked proudly at her pupils.

The entire class got up from their seats and shuffled around the class in search of a partner. 

Within that crowd, Fuyuhiko and Peko made their way towards each other. 

But before they could even open their mouths to speak, they were dragged away from each other. 

They yanked themselves out of the grips of their kidnappers and swiveled around  to face them. 

"Sup!" two voices called at the same time. 

Fuyuhiko face palmed at his kidnapper who turned out to be Soda while Peko just stared blankly at her kidnapper which turned out to be Ibuki. 

"What do you want?" Fuyuhiko growled as Souda let out a nervous laugh. 

"I tried to find Sonia but...Someone already got to her before me. Please be my partner!" Soda begged as his lip quivered and his eyes puffed out. 

Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes and glanced back at Peko as she was chatting with Ibuki and looked back at Soda. 

"...Fine." He grumbled as Soda let out a sigh of relief. 

"Sooo Peko-Peko! Wanna be my partner for the project~?" Ibuki beamed while adjusting her guitar.

"Uhm..." Peko hesitated and looked back at Fuyuhiko who was walking to the other side of the classroom with Soda and turned back to Ibuki.

"Somethin wrong? Maybe I can say it in a rhythm so you can get it better!" Ibuki cheered as she finished adjusting her guitar and began to strum the strings. 

The whole class turned their attention to the two girls as Ibuki loudly strummed her guitar and sung her heart out to Peko. 

"Will yoooooooouuuu do the PROJEEEECCCTTT WIIITTTHH MEEEEEEEE~ PEKO?????~" 

Ibuki's voice echoed throughout the room, leaving everyone with their ears ringing.

As Ibuki finished her solo, she gazed at Peko with a smile as she waited for a reply. 

Peko was even more hesitant but she managed to reply.

"I suppose.." 

As soon as the entire class had their partners, the school bell rung and the students flooded out of the classroom and filled the halls with chatter about what their projects might be about and what could possibly happen. 

In that wandering crowd, the gangster and the swords woman hoped to be partners. But they decided that they should not dwell on it. 

In fact, they were hoping to impress each other with what they made.

They felt determined to try hard to make each other proud. Just so they can see that little glitter of hope in each other's eyes was enough to drive them to do anything that they put their minds to. 

That's what love can do to a person.

And when it comes to these two, and with love guiding them, 

they are nearly unstoppable. 

Yes it sounds cheesy, which it does sound so, 

But their connection is what strives them to look after each other and be supportive. They want to be supportive even though all of it is just a school project.

Even the littlest spark could ignite a fire,

let's see how long their flame will burn for.
