Chapter 16 - Wish Granted

A week after the event everyone went back to Manila. The Ninongs are leaving for New York in a couple of days. Donya Mathilda is heading to Japan with Gabriel for other business dealings. Nicomaine came back from the airport.
Niccolo: How was Brent?
Nicomaine: He's fine, I'll see him whenever I get back to Toronto.
Greg: How about Richard?
Marciano: Oo nga, I didn't see him when we left the resort, nauna na ba syang umalis?
Nicomaine: I didn't see him either.
Niccolo: Nag-usap ba kayo bago sya umalis?
Nicomaine: He wanted to talk but there's really nothing to talk about. We're history
Ninong, close chapter of my life.
Greg: How could it be a close chapter ? Did you say goodbye, farewell, I don't want to see you anymore, tapos na tayo, wala nang pag-asa? Nicomaine, it's not a close chapter kung sya pa rin sinisigaw ng puso mo, rinig na rinig ko!
Marciano: Hahaha, hoy baklang Ninong, bionic ears ba ang tenga mo?
Niccolo: Kayong dalawa, manahimik nga kayo.
Nicomaine: Hindi na pwede Ninong Greg, ang hirap na ng sitwasyon namin.
Niccolo: Do you still love him? It always comes back to that. Kung wala na talaga then wala na talaga. Or are you just trying to convince yourself na wala na talaga? Hija, kung ang Diyos nakakapagpatawad, tayo pa kayang mga tao lamang?
Nicomaine: Ninong, I've forgiven him...
Greg: So anong problema at ayaw mo syang kausapin? Natatakot ka ba na baka bigla nanaman tumibok ang puso mo for him. Nicomaine, hwag mong pigilan ang nararamdaman para sa kanya. Kung mahal mo, mahal mo.
Marciano: Ang pag-ibig kasi parang lollipop lang yan eh...
Greg: Talagang babalik nanaman tayo sa lollipop, may cavities na nga eh, pero naagapayanan naman, matibay ang mga ngipin ng inaanak natin...
Nicomaine: What are you guys talking about?
Niccolo: Hay naku, huwag mo nang pansinin yang mga Ninong mong bakla...
Greg: Nagsalita ang dalagang Maria Clara....
Marciano: Nicomaine,hija, you're the master of your heart. Walang sino man ang puwedeng magdikta dyan. Nasaktan noon,but you learned from it pero hija masarap mabuhay ng masaya. Richard broke your heart but maybe he's the one who can mend it too.
Greg: Sya ang dentista mo, hija....
Nicomaine: Richard is my dentist? What?
Niccolo: Never mind, what are your plans? Are you heading back to Toronto right away or mag New York ka muna?
Nicomaine: Not sure yet Ninong Niccolo, maybe New York muna.
Martino interrupted their conversation....
Martino: May gustong kumausap sa yo Else...
The 3 Ninongs: Sino?
Then Richard resurfaced ....
Marciano: Well hello Richard Damian, akala namin hindi ka na namin makikita before we leave for New York, ...mga sisters lets go to our room now.
Greg: I'm not sleepy yet...
Niccolo: Gregorio ano ka ba? Halika na ...
Then Richard and Nicomaine was left alone...
Nicomaine: What are you doing here? I thought we have an agreement?
Richard was just looking at her, he suddenly pulled her close to him and kissed her passionately, she pulled away...Nicomaine: Why did you do that for? (She started to cry) akala mo ganun lang yun kadali, yayakapin at hahalikan tapos ayos na ang lahat?
Richard: I missed you Else, and I'm still missing you, I'm sorry. Alam kong malaki ang kasalanan ko sayo, all I ask is another chance, please, kung hindi mo na ako mahal maiintindihan ko but please let me at least try to make you love me again? Let me be your husband again and I promise that I will be the best one that you can ever imagine (he wiped his tears) I can't lose you now Nicomaine Elsa, I'm willing to lose everything just to have you back...I wish I could go back ...
Nicomaine: How can I love you again ?(then Richard hugged her again), she was crying.
Richard: Please tell me, how can I take the hurt away, how? But please (looked in Nicomaine's eyes)don't ask me to forget you and not love you anymore because I will never do that...
Nicomaine is still crying...
Richard: If you want to go back to New York, I will go with you...I will go wherever you want to go, basta gusto ko magkasama lang tayo palagi...hindi ko na kakayanin kung magkahiwalay tayo ulit (his hug is getting tighter).
Nicomaine is trying to pull away from Richard's embrace but she couldn't, she can't deny that her heart just beats for him, only for him.
