"Hey, mom, do you know where I left my backpack?"
"I think you left it near the bottom of the stairs, Autumn," She yelled from the kitchen.
"Oh yeah, thanks!" I ran down the stairs and grabbed my bag. "See ya later!" I flung open the door and bolted out just as my neighbor, also known as one of the baddest bad boys of West Campus High School and Sacramento, California as a whole, Will Young was closing his door, heading straight for his death contraption, his motorcycle.
Great, I was already running late and now this imbecile was going to hold me up even longer...
"Yo, Autumn! Everything good?" asked Will.
I gave him my best exasperated sigh, "Yes, Will, everything is good. See you later."
"Ah, come on. You're not even gonna humour me?"
"Sorry Will, but I don't have time for your silly antics this morning... Or any morning... Ever."
It seriously was frustrating that I couldn't ever walk out of my house or walk through school without being bombarded by these morons. If it wasn't Will, it was Austin.
Austin was the other bad boy of the school, and between him and Will, I could never catch a break. If one wasn't pestering me, the other one was, and i think it was because I was one of the only girls that they hadn't yet had the opportunity to prey on, and they wanted me to be their next victim.
It's not like there's anything super special about me, anyway. I had straight, light brown hair, boring brown eyes, you know the usual boring attributes of a boring girl.
Meanwhile, Will and Austin were absolutely stunning.
I may despise them personally, but I could totally admit that they were hot, though I would never allow myself to fall for one of their tricks.
Will was about 6'2, while I was only 5'4. He had big, deep emerald green eyes, short, dusty brown hair, warm, inviting lips, a very sharp jaw line, and quite the body. It's no wonder he could easily deceive so many girls, what girl wouldn't be attracted to that? It certainly made up for his jackass personality.
Austin was about the same height as Will, but had broader shoulders and a little more muscle. His hair was a dirty blonde that hung down to the bottoms of his ears, and always had this sort of windblown, just got out of bed look. He had greenish blue eyes that were more blue than green. They always looked so warm and cozy with a sinister lining.
I didn't quite realize that I was completely absentmindedly checking him out until he called me out on it, "Hey beautiful, you gonna stop drooling?" He chuckled.
I scoffed, "I wasn't drooling!"
He rolled his eyes, "Whatever you say, beautiful," he teased.
"Quit calling me that!" I yelled out as I got in my silver, 2011 Chevy Cruze. Before slamming my door shut, I distantly heard, "Oh don't be that way, baby."
Before pulling out if my driveway, I looked his way one last time, to see a giant smirk on his face. I was going to kill him. He knows how much he gets under my skin, and yet, he enjoys it.
I swear, the two of them lived to see me like this.
Backing out, I almost ran into old dipshit who whipped right on by on his death bike, apparently deciding that he wanted to beat me to school, which made no sense considering that I told him I wasn't going to go along with his silly games, but I still felt my own competitiveness rising to the surface.
Despite my best efforts I found myself pressing down in the gas peddle. I tried to tell myself to calm down, he already had a head start, I was going to lose anyway. But that wouldn't matter because I wasn't even playing, right?
I arrived at the school parking lot to find Will already there, looking out for my car and smirking when he found it. This boy really got on my nerves.
"Hey, you're late!" he exclaimed cheerfully.
Before I had time to come up with a clever reply, Austin showed up, and completely cut Will off, glaring at him.
They were friends, but when it came to me, they just couldn't stand each other. I guess they didn't want the other one to win me first.
Jokes on them, I would never take either of them.
"Hey, scrumptious," Austin said.
"Don't call me that, it makes it sound like you're gonna eat me," I complained.
"I could if you wanted me to." He winked.
I wanted to gag myself, but instead I rolled my eyes and walked away, and surprisingly enough, I wasn't followed.
First period went by smoothly, second period we had a test, and by third period, i was stuck with Austin, who I have to say, was probably the better one out of the both of them.
Yeah, Will was probably slightly more sexy, but at least Austin wasn't as much of a horse's ass.
As I entered the classroom I saw him and some buddies of his staring at me. I was tempted to roll my eyes but instead I just ignored them and walked to my seat, which also happened to be right in front of him.
Only seconds after I sat down, I felt his hand go up the back of my shirt, massaging the small of my back. My skin shivered underneath the contact of his gentle fingers.
"I know I intimidate you, princess," he whispered huskily.
I shivered again as he and his friends snickered together, and at that point, all I wanted was class to be over with.
