I stood in the middle of the room, talking with Queen Rapunzel and King Eugene Fitzherbert from Germany.
"So, you're mother and father let you take the crown?" I asked. Rapunzel laughed and nodded. "Yes. She thought it was time for her and my dad to take a break. And she let us take over," she motioned to Eugene who stood by her side. They had their hand in hand.
I suddenly remembered my mother and father last holding hands. When they had been walking down the stairs to their ship. To where they're life would end.
I pushed that memory back in my brain. "So, why did you come all the way from Germany to Arendelle?"
"Rapunzel's parents thought it would be a good idea," Eugene explained. "Though, I didn't really understand why they made us. Personally, I had better things to do."
"Eugene!" Rapunzel practically yelled. "I'm kidding," he defended himself. I laughed and told them, "it's okay, I get it. I'm just glad you made it. And you have to go back now?"
Rapunzel sighed and gave a small nod. "I'm afraid so. My father said I could go, but I couldn't stay for the party."
She leaned in close to me and said, "even though I'm the queen back there my parents still control me." We laughed and I said goodbye to them as they made their way towards the doors. That's when I heard my name.
I turned around to reveal Anna, with a man standing next to her, their arms looped with each others. I frowned.
The man had dark brown hair and was wearing a cream jacket with a yellow undershirt and a red sash. He also wore black boots, red and golden designs and patterns on his jacket and a matching cream ascot.
Anna bowed and gestured to the young man. "Queen Elsa, this is Prince Hans of the Southern Isles."
Hans bowed. "A pleasure to meet you, my queen." I nodded. He and Anna tried saying something but kept getting caught in each other's sentences.
"We would like you to bless," they kept giggling I couldn't understand. "Our marriage," they said in unison. I froze. My eyes widened in shock and my mouth fell open I was surprised it didn't hit the floor.
"Marriage?" I slowly asked when my jaw started working again. Anna squealed with excitement. "Yes!"
I blinked multiple times so I could see if this moment was real or not. It was. "I'm sorry I'm confused," I told them.
Anna took a deep breath and started talking. "Well we haven't figured out all the details ourselves, we'll need a few days to prepare the ceremony, and of course we'll have soup roast and ice cream." She gasped suddenly and turned towards Hans. "Wait, would we live here?"
I gulped. "Here?"
Hans gasped as well and said, "absolutely." I wanted to get him kicked out right then and there. I looked towards Anna. "Anna," I started, but they talked over me.
Anna had a huge smile on her face. "Oh, we can invite all twelve of your bothers to stay with us."
I kept talking, trying to get her to listen to me until I finally got both of their attentions.
"Wait, slow down," I told them. "No ones brothers are staying here and no one is getting married," I said calmly, but Anna looked hurt. "Wait, what?" She let go of Hans for that one second as I said, "can I talk to you please. Alone?"
Anna shook her head and grabbed on to his arm again. "No, whatever you have to say, you can say it to the both of us."
I wanted to scream with fury the way Anna was acting, but I stayed calm. "Fine," I breathed. "You can't marry a man you just met." "You can if its true love," Anna told me.
Are you kidding me Anna. True love doesn't exist you moron, I wanted to say. "Anna what do you know about true love?" I said instead.
"More than you," she fought back. "All you know is how to shut people out." That comment got me right in the heart. Now I was just upset with her, and I made her even more angry. "You asked for my blessing, but my answer is no. Now, excuse me."
I started walking away when prince Hans started talking to me. "Your majesty, if I may ease your..." "No you may not and I-I think you should go," I said, cutting him off mid-sentence.
I started walking again and as I did I looked up at one of the guards and told him, "the party is over close the gates."
Anna gasped and ran up to me. "Elsa please no," and she grabbed my glove off my left hand. I turned around with complete surprise and fear written all over my face. "Give me back my glove," I yelled but she pulled it away from me, out of my reach.
"Elsa please, please I can't live like this anymore," she said, talking about living in the palace, locked away because of me.
I said the only thing that came to mind. "Then leave." That struck her hard. I sighed and turned around, making my way to the door.
I had to get out of there before something went wrong, but Anna never backed down.
"What did I ever do to you?!" She yelled making everyone turn their heads. "Enough Anna," I mumbled but she wouldn't stop fighting.
As she talked I felt the anger building up inside me, making me want to scream. I kept telling myself, conceal don't feel, conceal don't feel. But by the time I made it to the door, all the anger took ahold of me.
"I said enough!" and I turned around, making a long line of spiky ice in between me and everyone else in the room. It gleamed in the chandeliers lighting and everyone's mouths dropped opened. Some people even screamed.
I made my hand into a fist and kept it near my chest. Anna looked at me, wonder and surprise all over her face. Also hurt, as always.
I looked over at Hans who had the same expression Anna and everyone else had. The duke of Weselton gasped and hid behind one of his men. "Sorcery," he protested. "I knew there was something dubious going on here."
"No," I whispered. I reached my right hand, the one with the glove still on and tried finding the knob. Once I did I opened the door and stormed out of the ballroom, leaving glaring and terrified faces after me.
