"Happy birthday!" Bambi screamed threw the phone.
"Thank you babe." I cleared my throat.
"How you gonna be late to school on the first day of your senior year and birthday?"
"School start next Friday not this Friday but okay." I shrugged as if she could see.
"So I'm the first one to say happy birthday?"
"Yes." I mumbled. "You just said fuck my sleep huh?"
"Yea, since you ain't got shit to do today imma come get you for a birthday breakfast."
"Umm okay." I sniffed, sitting up.
"Be ready lil ugly."
"Yah mama." I hung up in her face, chuckling.
I sat on the edge of my bed doing the "Great Stare" contemplating my life.
"Thank you God for another year." I got up to get get ready.
30 minutes later
"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you!!"
Aerin and her mama stood at the bathroom door as soon as it opened.
"Awww y'all so nice." I smiled, hugging them.
"Ooo you think your grown now huh?" Mommy tapped my hoop earrings.
"No." I said innocently.
"Mhmm." She smirked. "Alright I'm off to work happy birthday baby girl." She kissed my cheeks, then left.
"Umm sir ain't that my cake?" Aerin sat on my bed eating my cupcake.
"It look like it needed help."
"You ugly." I laughed. "Bambi take me to breakfast wanna go?"
"Food is involved what you think?"
"Okay then." I rolled my eyes

Walking out the back door, we walked to the front. Opening the passenger side door to Bambi's car, I got in.
"Bihh you finally 17!!"
"Imma baby." I fake pout.
"Yes you are." Aerin laughed.
"It's okay girl I ain't nothin' but two years ahead of you." Bambi shrugged pulling out of the driveway.
"Old ahh." Aerin coughed, then cleared her throat.
"Bitch." Bambi looked at threw the rear view mirror.
I laughed at my friends, as they began going back and forth. As time went on I start zoning out, while looking out the window.
"JoJo?"
"Mhm? Yea?" I looked over at Bambi.
"You good?" She glanced between me and the road, with a look of worry.
"Yea I'm straight."
"Yah think bout him ain't you? She wiped my face.
I didn't even notice I was crying.
"Yea." I nodded.
"His ass probably look at you mad as hell cause you cryin'." Bambi shook her head.
"Now yknow ion like all'at cry ma." Aerin try sounding like him.
"What chu cryin' fo'? Ain't it yah day?" Bambi added.
"But daddy-"
"Bitch I do not call him daddy!!" I laughed as Aerin try mocking me.
"Deaddd." Bambi laughed pulling up to IHOP.
"Keep playin' Death gon come for yah ass." I wagged my finger.
"You gon be standing at the bus stop. That nigga gon be like "Now at 8:12 a.m on Friday August 12 you was riding with yah girls and I quote you said "Deaddd." So um.."."
"Run me that dat soul shawty!!!" I finished Aerin's sentence.
"Stay y'all asses off Instagram and Twitter." Bambi was cracking up, getting out the car.
"For real keep play." I shook my head following suit.
"I got two bitches tweaking screaming that's my best friend." Bambi start sing.
"My best friend." Me and Aerin screamed and start twreaking.
"You better you better." Bambi got on Snapchat acting a fool. "Wait it's yo birthday!" She but the camera on me, recording another video. "One time for the birthday bih!!"
"Two time fo' the birthday bihh three time fo' the birthday bihh, fuck it up if it's yo birthday bihhh!!!" Aerin piped me up as I twerked.
"We gon get kick out of IHOP and we haven't even made it in yet." I laughed.
"Right." Bambi agreed.
