[ A/N: Not much to say but enjoy this chapter~ ^w^ Should I put a warning...? Nah. ]
You stared at the faceless little girl standing across from you, the world around you rendered completely irrelevant.
'If only you knew what you'd become....'

You sat on a bench, waiting for Yuki as he said he had to leave for a moment. The festival continued to bustle around you, families enjoying what the students' stands had to offer. The sun was on the edge of beginning to set, painting the sky a gradient of blue and yellow.
"Ugh, it's (Y/N)...," an all too familiar voice sneered. Emerging from the crowd was Sayaka, the 'perfect' student in school. Well, at least in the eyes of the teachers. Anyone who has been tormented by her in the past knows her to have the most poisonous of personalities. She swayed like a viper over to you, wearing a traditional dress that seemed to fit her curves too perfectly. Looking closer, you could tell she was wearing perfectly applied makeup as well as jewelry that complimented her features. You probably looked like a dull rock compared to the clean-cut diamond that was her.
"O-oh, Sayaka...!" you stuttered, swallowing your fear, "I-I-I thought-" She laughed, cutting you off, "I-I-I," she intentionally poorly mimicked before leaning down to face you with a smug smile, "What~? You thought that just because I was abroad for a couple weeks that you could do whatever you want?!" Her voice went from smooth to spiked and laced with poison. You blinked at her in terror and confusion, "Wh-what-" "Oh please!" She interrupted again, leaning back. "Don't think I don't know about your situation with Yuki..." her voice suddenly turned low and cold. "Do you really think he likes you?!," she laughed in exaggerated disbelief. "I-I don't-" You winced as she flicked at your hair, "Who would like someone as pathetically worthless as you, hm?"
She ripped the hairpiece from your hair, causing you to instinctively jerk forward, whimpering in pain as several strands were pulled out. Your hands instinctively shot up to grip your scalp and you kept your head down, allowing your now loose hair to cover your face. She stepped back, glaring at you with a look of disgust as if you were a dead rat thrown towards her. "What's this?" She mocked, ignoring your pain as she held up the pin, "Trying to doll yourself up? Don't make me laugh!" The golden pin was tossed down at your feet, sliding into your field of vision. "No amount of jewelry can hide that ugly face. You should've stayed in your worthless little hole." She smirked in a sick sense of pride and accomplishment before walking off and disappearing back into the crowd.
When you were sure she was gone, you slowly picked up your grandmother's hairpin with weak fingers. You tried keeping your hands from shaking as you put the pin back on, ignoring the sharp pains of your scalp as you did so. You can't let Yuki know about this...
"I'm feeling a bit tired now... I think I'll head home a bit early..."

Yuki rushed through the doors of the hospital, and straight past the receptionist of the main lobby. He already knew what room you were in, as the doctor had informed him during the phone call.
"I thought you'd want to know. She's in room 6-B if you'd like to visit."
He swallowed the lump in his throat as he ran, dodging others in the hallway and resorting to taking the stairs rather than wait for an elevator. He needed to get rid of all the adrenaline in him anyways and standing still in an elevator would only make him more erratic than he already was. He wouldn't believe it until he saw you, squeezing his eye shut and shaking his head to try and get rid of the images of you out. But in the back of his mind, his heart was already beginning to crack and chip away at the edges. He couldn't help but think of you smile and how he may never see it again.
He swung around the turning points of the stairs, slamming open the door to the sixth floor with his shoulder and sliding to a stop right in front of a doorway with a protruding sign that read "6-B" next to it. His chest heaved out of exhaustion but he payed no mind to it as he peered into the room, nearly hesitating. His heart shattered like fragile glass at the sight of you unconscious on the bed, connected to countless wires that monitored the activity of your body. Even the beeps of the heart monitor seemed faint. His mind spun with questions and despair. Why...? Why had you done it...? Was it his fault? Did he do something wrong?
For the next couple weeks, he refused to leave your side. Yuki would immediately head for the hospital from school and spend as much time as he could with you. He copied the notes for each class everyday so that you wouldn't be too far behind and stayed over night during weekends in case you woke up. He told you about his day every visit and would ask you to wake up countless times. He didn't want to lose hope.
[ A/N: Allllright! Fun stuffs! :D Sorry for the long gap but I had a thingie I had to attend ;-; Hopefully this chapter didn't seem too sappy ;3; I hope you sinners enjoyed~! ]
