[ A/N: God, it was so difficult to coordinate this with the song, especially with now iffy Wattpad is when you try and altar the video too much T^T But yes, there is a song~ You can't expect karaoke without a song >w< ( Yes, I know it's a cheesy song but hush! It conveyed the idea >~< )There will be an indication for when you should start playing and I didn't just want to slap the lyrics on here without scenes so not all lines will be represented in dialogue but rather you'll have to assume that they're being said in between, sorry ;-; Anyways, hope you sinners enjoy the chapter~! ^3^ ]
Miyuki seemed completely lost in her singing, her eyes closed as she twirled around the karaoke room with the microphone in her hand. It was some pop song that was apparently popular as of late. You had never heard of the artist but it seemed like Miyuki was a big fan of him. She sang her heart out to the instrumental beat that played on the speakers, not even glancing at the lyrics on screen even once. It seems she knew them by heart.
"Where have you two love birds been?" Katsuo teased, taking a swing of what seemed like his fifth drink. Empty soda cans littered the booth table. You blushed at Katsuo's implications and Yuki quickly covered for you. "W-we just got lost in the hallways," he stuttered in apology, ignoring his teasing. Miyuki finished up her song soon after but her applause was cut short as her brother stood up and snatched the remote/microphone from her hand with a twirl. "My turn~!" He chimed mischievously, forcing his sister to sit down. Miyuki huffed, crossing her arms gruffly as she observed what he was doing.
"Fumi-kun!" He called to the brown-haired freshman, waiting as he struggled out of the booth and to Katsuo's side. It seemed as if the two were experiencing a sugar-high from their carbonated drinks as Fumio practically bounced with energy. You took a nervous sip of your water, fearing for their safety as the stage was not that large to support two young adults.
Katsuo imputed the number before dramatically tossing the booklet onto the table. Fumio was handed another microphone and the theme of the Titanic began to play through the speakers. It didn't take long before the duo had arms around each other's shoulders, swaying back and forth as they bawled out the lyrics, their voices terribly off-tune but filled with overwhelming passion.
You couldn't help but laugh at their silly banter, Yuki chuckling beside you. He gave you a warm smile and squeezed your hand lightly. You hadn't realized that Yuki was still holding your hand, but now that you were aware of it, you couldn't help but notice how nicely his fingers intertwined with yours and how comfortable you felt by his side. 'Is this really okay...?' You asked yourself, daring to hold just the slightest bit of hope. A small, warm and genuine smile made it's way to your lips. A smile that made Yuki fear that you could feel his heart beat just a little louder. This was all that he wanted you to be, what he thought you deserved more than anything. Happiness.
The two of you were pulled from your thoughts as Miyuki suddenly grabbed each of your available hands, pulling you both out of the booth and onto the stage. You hand slipped from Yuki's in the process. "Eh-?" You blinked in confusion as the red-haired girl shoved a microphone in your hand, getting the same reaction from Yuki when she did the same to him.
She placed a hand on her hip, the other one holding out a playfully scolding finger. "You two are the only ones who haven't sung yet~" she giggled, a song already registered in the system. "Really? But what about Juzo-kun?" Yuki stuttered. "He went already!" She huffed. The image of Juzo singing couldn't register in your mind, it seemed so out of his character. Juzo simply nodded in confirmation. "I couldn't believe it myself!" Katsuo called from the back, taking another sip of his drink.
"Yep~!" Miyuki seemed to agree with her brother for once, "Now stop stalling, the song will start soon~!" You bit your lip as the screen behind you two flickered to life, a countdown and flashing lyrics telling you that you were meant to start. Yuki gave you a confident smile, the gesture giving you a little more confidence. The timer reached zero and a song began to play.
- start song here -
"Little do you know, how I'm breaking while you fall asleep." You voice was soft and barely registered with the microphone but with time, you grew a little more confident and the lyrics flowed easier."Little do you know, I'm trying to pick myself up piece my piece." You tried to ignore how Yuki was looking at you, evident shock in is features but also a hint of glee as a smile made it's way to his lips. "Underneath it all, I'm held captive by the hole inside." You tried not to think too deeply about the lyrics, ignoring how they could reflect you. "I'm ready to forgive you, but forgetting is a harder fight. Little do you know I... need a little more time..."
Yuki joined in, "I'll wait, I'll wait. I love you like you've never felt the pain." You were taken back by how much emotion was held in Yuki's words. They were preset lyrics of a song chosen by someone else yet the words themselves seemed to be a reflection of his feelings. But that couldn't be possible. "Little do you, I know you're hurting while I'm sound asleep." A subtle crack in his voice, unheard by his friends, but noticed by you made your heartstrings pull involuntarily. "Little do you know, I'm trying to make it better piece by piece." Yuki's hand slipped into yours, the action causing your gaze to shift from the screen and meet his gentle blue eyes.
"Oh wait, just wait. I love you like I've never felt the pain." Both of you voices rose in unison for the next verse, eyes locked together as if the lyrics themselves were already known by heart. "Love is here, and here to stay, so lay your head on me..." The song began to escalate and your voices overlapped each other. The presence of Yuki's friends vanished from the room and all one could focus on was the other and how intimately your fingers intertwined, the other hand holding the microphone. Even as the tune became more mellow, indicating the arrival of it's end, you both remained still. "So lay your head on me..." he sang. "Lay your head on me..." you repeated. "So lay your head on me..."
You voice died down and Yuki sand he final line, "Cause little do you know I... I'll love you 'till the sun dies." The room grew dead silent as all members remained speechless. You slowly lowered your microphone, as did Yuki, but your eyes stayed fixed with his. A whirlwind of emotions reflected in your [E/C] orbs yet Yuki's held confidence, as if he knew exactly what he meant to convey.
The chime of the karaoke program giving you a score snapped the two of you out of your trance and your gaze was broken. You were suddenly aware of Yuki's friends and you face grew beat red, covering your mouth as if you had said something foul. Miyuki had her hands clasped together over a wavy smile. "That was beautiful..." she whispered, eyes glistening with proud tears.
[ A/N: SO. MUCH. CHEESE. I'm so sorry! ;A; Things will calm way-the-hell down next chapter ( I hope... ) so don't worry! I'm making this in a rush since it's a school night and I still haven't done my homework so proofreading isn't currently an option... T^T Anyways, I hope you sinners enjoyed this chapter~! ]
