Him (Something Significant)

Time. Time is tricky. You know how time slows down when something significant is happening? Or when you are in the brink of death and suddenly all your life's greatest moments slow-mos in front of your eyes and you can't help but ask yourself "What the hell did I do with my life?" At least, that's what people who gets to live another day say happen at the brink of death. Wait, I strayed from my point. Let me gather my thoughts for a bit. Oh right, so something significant is surely happening right now.

I am looking at her. I am pretty sure she is in a hurry but I feel like each of her step is slow tango and her half-running, under normal circumstances, is not something I would associate with the fluidity of a dancer. If anything, I would describe it as clumsy and unsteady, what with all the bags and all that. But right there and then, everything slows down and her steps become a graceful dance and I cannot stop looking at her fading back. And I think I could watch that scene forever. In fact, if I could be stranded in a time loop, I would wish it was that moment. From her frantic rapping on my car window to her graceful trot in the Wong Fu office parking lot.

I sigh as she enters the building.

What a missed opportunity, Ryan. You could have helped her since you are heading in the same building anyway! But instead, you stared at her like an idiot when you could have unrolled the car window. Oh yeah, that idea is amazing but I hate to be Captain Obvious, you haven't even parked your car yet! Yeah, unroll the window, help the beautiful girl that stole your parking space and leave your car stranded in the middle of this parking lot! Yeah, great idea Ryan! Dammit. Calm down. Back the car up, back the car, back the car up. I should probably write a rap about backing a car. I bet it's going to be a hit. Or you know, how freaking nice guy you are and letting another person take your spot. You know what they say, nice guys finish last.

Right, back at the beginning. Let's make turn right here and pray for a miracle.

HELL YEAH! Two parking spots are available! See, life isn't so bad now, is it? It's okay to give up your parking space, you will always get another one. Well, ain't I lucky today? I meet a pretty girl, well, not exactly meet, more like creepily stared at her without her knowing.

"Alright, easing into parking space, easing into parking space, yeah, uh. Am easing into a parking space and today is the best of days coz I see a girl mouthing at me, but am an idiot I just let her be so she goes sayonara I ain't never gonna see ya."

If this was a video, I'd already be putting that cricket chirp sound effect. That's just pathetic, Ryan.

Well, it's time, m************s. I grab my bag and stumble out of the car.

It is a really sunny day though and after what happened earlier, it sure is extra brighter. WHAT A FUCKING CHEESEFEST, RYAN. I shake my head and smile.

I run into the Wong Fu building.
