At the same time in Ortonville, Sullivan and Jake are at a restaurant.
"Hey, I just got off the phone with my sister. She told me that you guys were coming to get her out of Malachi's lair, but you might need some help. Is that true?" challenges the waitress.
The guys look at each other with terrified looks on their face.
"Wait a second, what does your sister look like?" asks Sullivan.
"She's 6'7", about 105 pounds, has short, brown hair, wears glasses," explains the waitress.
"Yes, we might need some help," says Sullivan.
"What are you doing?" asks Jake.
"Her sister is the girl, I was talking about, with regret in her eyes. We can help her get out of there."
"Fine, but I still don't trust her completely. She is a random waitress who coincidentally knows something about what our mission is. I don't believe in coincidences."
"My life is nothing but coincidences. I have a bit of luck on my side. If I am wondering what to do in a game, I take a break and go on YouTube to listen to music. The first videos that pop up on my recommended for you thingy is a walkthrough of that game. I believe in coincidences big time. This is one of those odd coincidences."
"Fine!" Jakes says and then mouths, "I'm watching you."
"Do you know where the girls are?"
"No, but I do have a blanket Olivia used to sleep on. I haven't washed it. If your dog needs a refresher on where to go, I have that in my guest room in the back."
"You need it, Flip?"
Flip shakes his head.
"How about you, Zoe?
Zoe shakes her head and drool goes everywhere. Flip, like he always does when there is drool on the floor, starts drinking it up.
"Ew, you're a weirdo Flip. I'm sorry. Do you have anything else that might help us?"
"No, but a free meal might help you guys."
"That would be awesome, thanks!"
Sullivan and Jake finish their food. The guys and their dogs start off on their journey once more.
Ten minutes in, Flip starts jogging towards the next exit. All of a sudden, he starts growling and his hairs are sticking up on his neck. Zoe does the same thing about two minutes later. They stop at the end of the ramp and wait for the light to turn green
"What in the world is going on? Wait up Flip! Wait up Zoe! Are we already almost there?"
Right as Jake and Sullivan got within a foot of their dogs, the light turned green and the dogs were off.
"Something tells me we are almost there."
