Olivia and Kara do the same thing with the new girl as they did with Lily. The new girl has a secret admirer named Jake. The second the new girl collapsed, Jake, Sullivan, and Lily all felt weak.

"So this is what Sullivan felt when I collapsed. But, why am I feeling weak right now?" Lily thinks.

"Why am I feeling weak again? I know Lily didn't pass out because I can hear her thoughts right now." thinks Sullivan.

"What the heck is this odd feeling? Wait, I know this feeling. I felt this last summer when Dawn passed out from heat exhaustion, but this seems more intense than heat exhaustion. Plus it is only 40 degrees outside," thinks Jake.

Jake's mom, Amelia, comes in.

"Hey mom, I'm sorry you came in when I was about to leave to check on Dawn. I feel weak again. This time, though, the feeling is more severe," says Jake

"Why do you do this? She didn't give you anything for saving her last time," says Amelia

"She is my crush. To me, that means saving her every time she needs saving. I don't need anything in return. I would prefer to get something in return, but I don't need anything. I'm sorry but I have to go."

Suddenly, Amelia's motherly instinct kicked in.

"Ok, but bring Zoe with you."

"Will do."

Jake sets out to check on Dawn. Five minutes later, Jake feels stronger.

"Hey, Dawn must be awake. Wait, how am I able to feel when she passes out?" he thinks to himself.

"We can read each other's minds too," Dawn thinks back.

"You're correct about that, but how can we do that?"

"I have no clue!"

Jake gets to Dawn's house and knocks on the door. The only answer is grunts from her parents. He checks the doorknob to see if it is locked or not. It is locked. He tests the strength of the door by trying to kick the door down. He realizes the door is pretty strong, and he should never do that again, it really hurt. The adrenaline kicks in, and he kicks open the door.

"Second time's the charm! Here let me untie you guys. What happened? Where is Dawn?"

"Two guys came over and tried to kidnap Dawn. We tried to fight them off, but one of them tied us up, while the other one went upstairs. We couldn't stop them. The one that was tying us up looked obligated about doing this. When they took her away, it looked like she had been electrocuted."

"That explains why I felt tingly before I felt weak. That also explains why I was weak in the first place. May I go up to her room, please?"

"Sure."

"Thanks"

Jake and his dog, Zoe, walk up to Dawn's room. The door was wide open.

"Ok, door wide open, taser in the middle of the room, the computer still turned on, and two sets of footprints. One close to the bed, and one where the taser is. Let's see what's on her computer."

Jake looks through Dawn's electronic journal of the past week. Finally, he finds an interesting passage that reads, "I think I am starting to fall for Jake. I can read his mind. It is so weird and funny. Someone has been following me everywhere I go. I go to tennis practice, he shows up. I go to the library, he shows up. It is freaking me out. That is all I have today." Jake smiles to himself and swipes to the next page. This page reads, "I just read Jake's thoughts. He was thinking about if I ever get messed with, he is going to beat whoever messed with me up. Something tells me that someone is going to mess with me. Why I say this, is the guys from yesterday are still following me and showing up wherever I go. I don't like it." Now, Jake is smiling from ear to ear.

Meanwhile with Sullivan, Flip is steering Sullivan to a hotel in Cucratu, Missouri. Sullivan is getting tired as well. They check in at the Hampton Inn and go to their room. Thankfully, the Hampton Inn allowed pets from ten pounds to twenty-five pounds. Flip is twenty-two pounds. The second Sullivan gets in the room, he turns on the news. Flip gets up on the bed with Sullivan and watches the news with him.

"An amber alert was just sent out for a Cucratu teen girl. She was last seen wearing a blue Columbia jacket, a pair of jeans, and a pair of black tennis shoes. She is about 5'5" and 126 pounds. She has long brown hair. She was last seen with her hair braided," says the journalist.

"This guy has attacked again! Wait, I am in Cucratu right now. That is odd. Well, right now, I need sleep," says Sullivan to himself.

The next morning, Sullivan wakes up and begins his journey again. Five minutes in, he sees someone walking onto the highway following their dog.

He thinks, "Wait a minute, that's what I am doing. I am following a dog on the highway. I should introduce myself to this mysterious kid my age."

"Hey, wait up! What are you doing on the busy highway with a dog?" asks Sullivan.

"Why are you on a busy highway with a dog?" asks the mysterious man.

"Someone kidnapped my crush. Who are you?"

"I'm Jake. I'm thinking we might want to team up to find our kidnapped crushes."

" OK, but why should I trust you? Wait, did you just say our missing crushes?"

"Yes, I did. Someone kidnapped my crush as well."

"What is your crush's name? What does she look like? What was she wearing last time you saw her?"

"My crush's name is Dawn. She is 5'5" and about 126 or 127 pounds. She has long brown hair. She usually braids her hair. When it's cold outside, she wears her baby blue Columbia jacket. She always wears jeans. She wears either white or black tennis shoes. Why do you ask? What is your crush's name? What does she look like?"

"My crush's name is Lily. She is 5'3" and is 115 pounds on the dot. She has shoulder length, dirty blonde hair. She always wears a ponytail. I asked to make sure you weren't one of the kidnapper's minions. Also, I saw your crush on the news last night."

"I saw your crush on the news two nights ago. I forgot to ask you. What's your name?"

"My name is Sullivan."

They keep talking about their crushes until lunch time.
