I stood at the van, looking up at the water tower. It looks a whole lot bigger up close. I grabbed the sharpie out of the backpack and stuck it in my pocket, so we could sign our names up there. I was getting scared, knowing that I was going to have to tell everyone a secret. And I guess I figured out one good enough to tell.

We walked through the tall grass that surround the water tower. It slapped my leg with each step. Here's to hoping there are no snakes or other creatures creeping around out here, because I wouldn't see them through the grass.

Everyone stepped up on the ladder and started making there way up. I followed last, with the ladder creaking at every step. I sure hope this thing can hold us all up.

When we finally made it, I said a little thank you to the big man upstairs for not having us all fall to our deaths. I turned to face the water tower and was amazed at all the names up there.

"Look at all these names," I said smoothing my hand over the names written on the tower.

"Look," Sonic said, "Mary Carleston."

"Who knew all these people played," Lane said.

"You guys," I called, "Look," I said pointing to familiar name.

"Drew Santino?" April asked.

"He's the counselor at school."

"1988. That seems to be the oldest year written," Brooklyn pointed out.

"Do you think they were the first Dare Night?" I asked.

"Looks like it."

"Do you think Mr. Santino had to try on women's lingerie?"

"I'm going to try my hardest not to invasion that," Lane said.

I stared in awe over all the names that were up there. All these people played Dare Night too. I wonder if they had the same dares as us or if they were totally different back then. Thinking about all these people doing dares back then brought a smile to my face. I knew Mr. Santino was cool, but this made him 10x cooler.

I drive by this water tower all the time, and never would have guest all this history was up here. It makes you wonder what else the city is hiding.

I walked to the edge and sat down, resting my arms and head on the railing. Eventually everyone joined in, sitting beside me. I didn't know how cool the view looked from up here. You could see most of the city, all lit up. It looked like a different place from up here.

"So," Sonic started, "Who's going to share their secret first?"

 No one answered.

"I guess I will," Sonic groaned, "I got into Yale."

"What?" I screamed, "Sonic, why didn't you tell me sooner. Congratulations!"

"Thanks," He paused, "The reason I didn't tell anyone yet is because I don't know if I want to go."

"What do you mean?"

"It's always been Yale for my dad. He went there, so I have to go there. What about what I want? What if I want to take time to travel? What if being a lawyer isn't what I want? You know, I see how my dad is. He's always wrapped up in work more than his family. A reason why he never realized that I don't want to go to Yale."

"Then don't go to Yale," April said.

"It's not that easy."

"How's it not?" She retorted, "Choose your happiness, Sonic. Sure your dad may be mad at you for not going, but he's not going to hate you for it. If you want to travel, travel. If you don't want to be a lawyer, don't. Study Abroad, get away from here and find your happiness."
