12. Chosen By The Ocean

"How long are you gonna stay mad at him?" Astrid asked Moana as she was feeding Kai and Tide.

"For as long as I need to be." Moana answered and tossed another fish at her dragon. "I can't believe I blushed at his flirtatious remark!"

"This is not the first time you've been flirted with isn't it?" Astrid asked and tossed a fish to Stormfly.

"Back home some guys would flirt with me but it was more with actions than words. And it was quite annoying."

"Been there, done that. Though Hiccup flirted with me, I didn't really mind."

"Because he's cute and a dork." Moana said letting out a small laugh which Astrid smiled at. "Eret on the other hand is..."

"He can be a dork as well, that is if you are into the cocky muscled man type of guy."

"I'd rather pick the ocean over Eret any other day. My dad once jokingly said that if I loved the ocean so much, that why don't I ever marry it?"

Both girls burst out laughing and their dragons looked at them before looking at each other in confusion. They just shrugged and went back to playing in the water.

"Too bad the ocean can't help you find your spouse." Astrid said after they stopped laughing.

"Well I guess it hasn't found the right guy who's perfect for me." Moana said with a shrug. "But as I said many times, I'm still not ready to settle down. Whoever I do end up marrying should never try to ground me too much."

"You'll want a sailor then, someone who wants adventure as much as you do." Astrid suggested. "But they'll know when it's time to go home and be pretty firm with you."

Before Moana could say anything, she heard a yelp and a splat and looked over at the water to see Hiccup and Eret laying on their backs and coughing up sea water. Moana's eyes widened and looked up at the wave and pointed to Eret before forming what looked like a...thumbs up? and dipped back into the sea.

"What happened to you two?" Astrid asked as she hurried over to Hiccup.

"I was out on the fishing boat with Eret, just talking and then the ocean swallowed us up." Hiccup explained and ran a hand through his soaked hair.

"Did your boat tip over, Eret?" Astrid asked the other Viking.

"No...the ocean just popped up and snatched me up and Hiccup dove in to grab me. And then it just took him along for the ride as well." Eret answered and looked at Moana. "Does it always do that?"

Instead of answering him, Moana hopped off the rock and stormed over to the edge of the surf.

"Umm...WHAT!" She yelled at the sea. "Astrid was kidding about you finding me a husband! Why him of all people?! And why'd you drag his chief into this?!" Moana gave the water a kick but it quickly moved away from her feet and she hit the floor. Moana scrambled to her feet and pointed an accusing finger at the water. "Fish pee in you! A-all day...so....hmph!"

"Uh...what is she talking about?" Hiccup whispered to Astrid.

"....I'll tell you later." Astrid whispered back. "Now is not the time."

"I'm confused about this as well." Eret muttered to himself. "Very confused."
