When Rin opened the door to the Akatsuki hideout, the was immediately enveloped in complete darkness. Instantly, she narrowed her eyes and opened her senses. Huh, the kunoichi thought when she could barely sense the chakra of the members. She knew they were there, but they were either strongly depleted or strongly suppressed. Rin scratched her head, forcing her nervousness down.

"Hikaru, on guard," she whispered.

"Got it," he replied. In the dark, the wolf pup's eyes still glowed in all its brilliance. Excitement shone in his eyes. Rin frowned. Taking a deep breath, she turned the lights on.

The lights did not turn on. Instead, sounds of snapping began to come from around the room. It started with one snap, and gradually, snaps were so frequent that one could not be told apart from another. Rin watched in wonder as the room began to light up in neon. She looked up to find a huge sign in front of her, appearing to float in midair in front of what the medic presumed was the hallway. It glowed in different neon colours and, in kanji, spelled out:

Happy Birthday, Rin!

The kunoichi's jaw dropped. She stood, frozen in awe, as she stared at the glowing decorations around her. There were glowing helium balloons, glow sticks lining the kitchen table, glow sticks hanging from the ceilings, flags and birthday banners lined with glowing material and hanging from glowing string... So many things were glowing that Rin was able to see everything from the entrance to the end of the hallway. The Medic Ninja openly gaped.

"SURPRISE!" the whole room yelled. She jumped.

Instantly, Rin was surrounded by many members, all slapping her on the back and congratulating her. Eventually, they came to assemble in front of her, watching her hopefully. Rin could only stare at each and every one of them in turn, mouth agape.

"...Well? Do you like it, un?" Deidara broke the silence at last, eyes shining with hope and the tiniest bit of anxiousness. Rin came to her senses and blinked back tears.

"Yes... Thank you... I... I love you guys so much!" With that, Rin threw herself on top of the first person she came in contact with... who happened to be the blond. He grinned and swung her around. At that, the room exploded to life as music started to blare and members high-fived and rushed around happily.

"So... You like it?" Deidara asked once more, putting the girl down. Rin smiled.

"I love it!" she exclaimed. "Are you kidding me? It's amazing! This must have taken you guys so long to prepare... I can't thank you all enough!" Beside the teen, a certain Jashinist nudged her.

"Dei-baka thought of it, you know," he whispered. "Better go thank your boyfriend!" Rin swiped at him, cheeks turning red, but the silver-haired teen pranced out of the way and disappeared into the kitchen, snickering all the way. Rin turned back to the waiting blond.

"W-What did he say, hmm?" Deidara asked.

"Deidara-san... Did you do all this?" The sculptor turned red and ducked his head.

"W-Well..." Rin shook her head and launched herself at him once again. Deidara laughed as he caught her. "You deserved it, yeah..."

"Thanks," she murmured. "You're the best, Deidara-san!" Behind her, there was a small chuckle.
