Ch. 41 Once a maker

"Im happy your feeling better," I said to Minah. She nods and stretches her muscles.

"Thanks Oppa."

"No problem. But now that your better we have an issue," I said to her. She raises a brow.

"What now Oppa?" She asks. I cant blame the tired tone in her voice. We havent ran into this much trouble in a long time.

"We have a witch to track. You could have died if I wasnt an experienced vampire. The spell that was sent to us was a strong one because I couldnt sense anything even though it was one spell on top of the other," I scratched my head. " This witch must be dangerous and remember the last time we ran into one?"

Minah visibly cringed at the thought. Our last encounter with a witch was in New Orleans. And let me tell you the witches there and the ones in the bayou are no joke. I wouldnt even mess with them and Im like the oldest walking fossil right now. Its just something about the power in the south that breeds beautiful strong witches. It was like their very essence was of the purest magic. And I learned how to be wary of the witches since my encounter with them way back.

Im wiser now but that doesnt mean I would just stroll in there thinking im like the king of vampires. I thought about it for a bit. Guess I am. And as I thought about it more an idea popped into my head.

"Minah. I think its time to make a coven," I said thoughtfully. Minahs eyes become wide.

"A coven? You mean like a den of vampires?" She asked. I nod. "But Oppa you never did that before are you sure?"

"Yeah. I just have a feeling that we would have to deal with more then one witch,"I said.

"I dont know Oppa. Its better to be safe then sorry but it seems kind of iffy," Minah answers honestly. I smirked at her.

"What you dont think I could handle it?" I asked. Minah shruggs.

"I dont really know. Im not saying you can't but you never turned someone before."

I sighed.

"I have. Once before." Minah eyes are wide with shock and curiosity.

"Why havent I heard about this?" She asks. I shake my head.

"I didnt want to tell you. You left to go back to Korea because you were home sick and while you were gone I became bored from traveling alone. So I made a vampire. It was another girl. Her name was Judith and she was so pretty that I wanted her," I tell her. Minah shakes her head.

"Keep going I know you have more to say. And tell me the whole story Oppa."

I smirked at her demands but told her anyways.

"I was a bit selfish at this time. She had a family and a husband but i didnt care. When I turned her she was confused at first and very disoriented. And then she was angry. She was angry that I took her from her family. She even attacked me but of course I- well you know what happened. Anyways she had calmed down and then she just sobbed. She was sad and angry at first but then she looked at me and smiled. She thanked me. What I didnt know was that her husband was selling her body for money. Luckily her daughter was old enough to move out but her son...that was the only thing she regretted. After that she stayed we me for a while but I saw something in her eyes that I didnt like. It was a destructiveness,"I took a deep breath to continue.

"She was fine at first. I had thought that maybe we had found another companion to join us but she....she was something else. It was like she was born to be a vampire. Like her very being was made to be vile even though she was human only days before. Everything was fine but something about her put me on edge."

"Why?" Minah asked this time sitting on the couch next to me. I smiled at her curiosity at my life even though she been part of a good portion of it.

"She was feeding on humans as if she was in constant pain from hunger or something. But I knew that even as a fresh vampire she didnt need to feed that often. Nothing could satisfy her. In a week she went through half the village she was staying in. The thing about it was that she left bodies everywhere. She didnt clean up her mess. She didnt care if anyone saw her. And the bodies of her victims were badly mutilated. I thought I was a monster but there is nothing worse then a women in pain. She was drawing to much attention and at this time I was trying to have a relaxed life after meeting you so I couldnt let her do that. So I had to end her. I didnt get to her however before she killed her husband," I shook my head and grinned. "That was something else. She must have really hated him with a passion with the way his body was torn into peices all over the place. And to top it off her son was in the room witnessing it all. Through her rage she didnt even notice him there. That poor kid was probaly tramatized. We left. We left the village but out of the good graces of my heart I sent word to the sister to come and get her brother. After that I had no idea what happened."

I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. This conversation wasnt particularly hard to talk about but Minah didnt noticed that Evie was by the wall listening. His stealth skills was quite sharp but his scent was something that I couldnt miss. Nosy devil. I continued on with my story to humor him and his nosiness.

"When we were a safe distance outside of the village she was angry. Like that was a big surprised. She was upset that we had left the village. She wanted to kill every guy that had touched her. Every guy that didnt care about her reluctance to sleep with them. And she wanted to kill their wives for not satisfying their husbands enough that they had to seek her out instead. She wanted revenge but I had told her that it wouldnt change anything. Hypocritical of me I know but, I was trying to make her see my way with out commanding her. I gave her the option to be free but she chose to stick to her old life. I would have let her go if it werent for the fact that I knew that one day she would seek me out. A vampire needs the affection of their master. And I didnt want her to bring that drama and trouble into my life so I killed her. I broke her neck, ripped out her heart and burned her. You and I met up with each other a month later and I never spoke of it," I said finishing my tale. I seemed to be sharing a lot lately.

"Thats why you seemed off at that time. But I never knew what for," Minah said in awe finally putting the puzzle together.

" Evie you can come out now." I heard a sigh and I can picture him rolling his eyes. He comes into the room his cheeks slighlty pink from embarassment. I chuckled at him and he gave me a dead look in return

"What an interesting story. Seems like I have more to learn about you," Evie said coming to stand in front of me. I gave him a smile and saw his face melt.

"Minah do you have Moses number?" I asked.

"Yep."

"Great I need you to give him a call. I need him to help me find this witch," I tell her. She nods and stands up sliding her phone from her skirt pocket.

Once she was out of the room I turned my attention to Evie.

"Nosy much?" I asked chuckling. Evie frowns but I could see the humor in his eyes. I reach out for him and he strolls over and place his hands in mine. I drag him to my lap and feel him relaxed against me. I breath in his scent and close my eyes.

"Its just one problem after another," Evie said. I shake my head even though he couldnt see me.

"Its nothing much. Well it seems this situation with Julio is getting serious though," I said thoughtfully. "Im happy your not as fragile though. I wouldnt have to worry as much," I said pecking his hair.

He shakes his head and shrugs.

"I have to ask Moses about that again." He sighs. " So whats this thing about creating a coven?"
