Butch's P.O.V

She asked to get off so I shifted her a little. I heard her sigh and suddenly all her stiff muscles relaxed. She leaned her head back onto my shoulder and when the lightning flashed I saw that her eyes were closed and she was smiling.

I smiled to myself, and was about to see if she was asleep when she asked me something.

"Butch, why do you seem so familiar?" She whispers so quietly that I can barely hear her over the thunder.

Could she possibly recognize me as a Rowdy Ruff. What did she think of us Ruffs, or was she a puff person. She did have a point though, I feel like I know her.

"I don't know... maybe we've met before," I shrug and lift her head up so her hair brushes my cheek. She smells like a fresh soccer ball. I know soccer balls don't usually smell good to people. But to me it's perfect. She squeezes my hand and even in the dark I see her smile.

"I hoped so," She sighed.

"So where are you from?" Then I think I don't even know this girl, I just met her today and she's sitting on my lap!

Kaoru must have been thinking the same thing because she quickly got up and sat on her bed, facing me. Her lack of warmth wanted to make me jump over there and wrap her in a giant hug. That's odd, I don't like hugs.

"New Townsville," She said lightly. I feel my mouth drop open. "what's wrong?" she asks worriedly. It's so cute.

" I come from there too," I say smiling. "So you know the Puffs and Ruffs?" time to find out.

"Yeah, why?" Her voice has gotten a little touchy. I wonder what's wrong.

"Which do you like?" I ask.

"Puffs," She said then as an afterthought she added, "I like Buttercup." Ah I was hoping she would say that. I like BC, I know I shouldn't but I do, but after meeting Kaoru I'm having second thoughts.

"What about you?" She finally asked.

"Ruffs, I like Butch." I say with a laugh. She laughs too until she stiffens she stands up and her face looks serious in the lightning.

"Funny how you have the same name, right?" It wasn't really a question, more like a statement. I gulp.

"Yeah, it is funny," I rub my neck awkwardly.

"I-I think We, I should get to lunch hall." She stammers. What did I say?

"Yeah, I'll walk you," I say grabbing an umbrella. She nods and we set off.

When we reach the lunch hall we find the others sitting at a table chatting. Momoko's hair is dripping from her bangs and ponytail. Miya's curls are just teardrops now. Bricks hat sits next to him, soaked and boomers hair is plastered to his face.

"There you two are!" Momoko shouts.

"Momoko I told you to take out your ponytail so your hair can dry," Miyako instructed as we sat down. Momoko rolled her eyes and pulled out her ponytail making it fall down behind her.

"You got long hair, Pinky," Brick said wide eyed. She shuddered when he called her Pinky.

"Haha, I guess I do," She shrugged and wrung it out.

"What took you so long?" Boomer asked.

"We lost track of time," I shrug. Miya pushes a bowl of soup over to Kaoru and a plate of Mac n cheese to me.

"The boys said you didn't like soup," She said shrugging.

"Thank you Miyako," I say nodding. Kaoru nods in thanks and begins slurping her soup, tipping the bowl back.

"Careful, Kao. If you keep doing that it'll end up on you not in you." Momoko said with a smile. I take a few bites of my own food as Kaoru finishes. Her face is red from drinking so much hot stuff at once, but other than that she looks fine.

"Yeah, and then I'll pour a a bowl on you!" Kaoru said laughing. Momoko glares while everyone else laughs.

Suddenly Miyako's phone beeps. She picks it up nervously and looks down at it.

"Um guys...i gotta go use the bathroom. I'll be back," She said slipping her phone into her pocket and walking away.

"Alright," Momoko said nonchalantly. I looked back at my food and a minute later Momoko and Kaoru got up.

What wrong?" Brick asked.

"Come on. We're following Miya," She said as she tossed her tray in the trash.

"Why?" I ask. Momoko turns to me sharply but her face doesn't show that she's mad.

"Because she just walked the opposite way of the bathroom," Momoko said pointing to the exit. Wow this girl was good, i didn't even see her watch Miya!

"Maybe she's using the cabin bathrooms," Boomer shrugged. Momoko have Kaoru a 'how stupid can one guy be' look and rolled her eyes.

"You guys don't have to come if you don't want to," Momoko said.

"Oh no Pinks, were coming!" Brick says shaking his head. Momoko narrows her eyes and looks like she's about to say something, but stops herself. "you guys need to be protected anyway."

That was the snap for Kaoru.

"I don't need to be protected by some dweeb! On second thought you all can stay here while Momoko and I go our and find our sister in the rain!" Momoko stops her with a gentle touch and they turn to walk out.

"Wait!" Brick shouts grabbing Momoko's arms. Boomer wasn't kidding, these girls are tuff!

"If you don't remove your hand in the next five seconds I'm gonna have to explain to the nurse why there is a fork in it," Momoko warns lightly without turning around. I don't think I've seen Brick drop a burning pan faster than he dropped her arm.

"Look guys, Miyako's our sister. We can deal with it," Momoko says shooting an apologetic smile and walking out. Kaoru nods and follows.

"We're following then aren't we?" Boomer asks. Brick turns to Boomer and smiles evilly.

"Uh, duh!"
