I wanted to cry since I found out about all the deaths! My poor Boomer, but it wasn't him doing it! It was Him. (Lol)
"It'll be okay Buttercup," Blossom assured our sister. I sped up next to them, glancing at Buttercup. She looked so heart broken.
"We won't let him slip away," I say. I meant it to comfort her but as it came out I felt more like I was assuring myself.
"We promise," Blossom and I say at the same time. Buttercup glances at us and forces a brave smile.
"Let's go keep it," she says, zooming off deeper into the forest. I smile weakly at Blossom and we speed after her, Brick close behind.
Buttercup dived into a clearing, forcing me to fly backwards while Blossom flipped onto her back and dove down backwards. Brick floated down next to us, clutching his head. Blossom gave him a nervous look, biting her lip, before looking at Buttercup.
"They're right through there," she said slowly, her voice super quiet. Blossom creeps up to the bushes and peeks through. She pulls her head out and nods, confirming it.
"They're guarding a cave," she says in a quieter voice than Buttercup. Brick and I nod while Buttercup frowns. Typical.
"Blossom and I will take out Butch, Brick you and Bubbles take care of Boomer," Buttercup instructs, flipping her compact and changing into her super mode. Blossom does the same and I copy them, leaving Brick in his uniform.
"How do we 'take them out'?" I ask curiously. Buttercup got quiet and then sighed.
"I'm pretty sure that Him used their sadness from us turning them down, so we just have to tell them the truth," she says. "It may or may not work. If it doesn't Blossom can always freeze or barbecue them."
"Haha," Blossom says sarcastically blowing out a puff of cold air. I shiver, but it's not from the cold, it's my nerves. From the sounds of it, the boys aren't too good.
"Truth, got it," I reply weakly, giving a thumbs up. Blossom squeezes my hand and nods to Buttercup. They go up to the bushes as brick and I join them.
"Stay alive," Buttercup commands, looking at all of us. Blossom rolls her eyes, Brick snickers, and I smile.
"Ditto," I say and then we fly through.
Buttercup wasn't kidding when she said they were bad. They were even worse than last time, their eyes were gray and their skin pale with black goop coming from their mouth.
Blossom and Buttercup attacked Butch right away, sending powerful blasts of energy to distract him while Brick and I backed up in surprise. Neither of us had seen the boys.
Boomer roared a weird gurgle sound and charged at us, a hammer dangerously swinging in his hand. He headed towards me, but I dodge his hit, making him run right into a tree.
"Boomer! Please, don't do this!" I plead. He pushes off from the tree, shaking his head and growls at me. "I'm sorry, Boomer! I meant none of it!"
Boomer charged again, this time slower and more calculated. He headed towards me but at last minute turned and jumped onto Brick, bring him to the floor. I screamed and rushed at them, trying to pull Boomer off him, but he was trying to hit his head. Brick was dodging his attack by moving his body while I grabbed Boomers arm and twisted until a sharp crack rang out.
Boomer cried our in bubbly agony and jumped away from brick and I. His eyes turned a faint shade of Misty blue growing slightly stronger as he stared up to me with sadness. Suddenly that sadness changed to anger and he charged again, his hammer in his left hand.
"Boomer, I know you're in there! Please, you have to listen to me! I love you Boomer, and I'm sorry!" I screamed. He chucked the hammer at me and I yelped, ducking as it collided into the tree just where my head had been.
"Gutbbles!" he cried out, ripping a limb off a tree and chucking me into the air. I fell down onto the earth creating a small crater. Boomer stands at the edge, smiling down to me when Brick side tackles him, dragging him into a fist fight. I shakily get up to my feet and fly to the ground. Boomer was under brick, dodging only some hits.
"Stop! Boomer please don't!" I plead, grabbing his hand and holding them to the ground. He squirms, trying to break free while brick restrains his body.
"What...now?" Brick asks. Blossom flies past us into a tree, cracking it in half. Brick stares in shock but Blossom flies back into the air, her eyes sparking with dark pink electricity. Her hands light with flames and she charges back into her fight.
"Boomer....please!" I plead through gritted teeth. I lean over him and gently hold his face, placing my lips on his. I don't know what happens but as soon as I do a large wishing sound comes from me, within me, and the next thing I know Boomer's kissing me back.
I pull away and look down into navy blue eyes. Weak but definitely belonging to him. "Boomer!" I cry hugging him. He grunts in pain and I pull away examining him.
"I think you, ahh, broke my arm," he hisses, holding if close to him. I laugh and pull him in for another kiss.
We pull apart when I hear a grunt. I turn and see Brick sitting there with a dirt covered blossom standing over him, looking down at us. Blossom was back in her pink dress and as I looked down I was back in mine.
"Are you okay Boomer?" she asks cautiously. Boomer smiles painfully at me and shakes his head, unable to speak through the pain.
"I broke his arm," I say quietly, glancing at Blossom. She holds in her laugh with a tight face and leans forward. She grabs Boomers arm lightly, causing him to gasp in pain and click her tongue.
"You sure did, let's see if someone back at camp can fix this," she says quietly, releasing him.
"They can't," he says quietly. Blossom raises an eyebrow in question and Boomer releases a tight sigh. "I killed the nurse...well, Him killed her, but I was still there."
"Oh Boomer," I whisper quietly. Blossom looks down at him, hands on her hips and nods.
"Then I'll fix it when we get back, come on," she says, gesturing for us to follow.
"What about Him?" I ask, looking towards the cave.
"He's long gone, fled as soon as you two came back," Brick says, looking at Boomer and Butch who was hugging Buttercup. We nod our head and I put Boomers good arm around me, lifting him into the air. He looks at me and smiles. I return it and we speed off to fix him.
