You were the queen of your kingdom. It should've been your father or your mother, but life just didn't work out for you. Your father, who was king first , died when you were 14. Then your mother became queen. But she passed away 2 years ago, a month after your 24th birthday. Before she died, she chose a prince that was going to marry you. Now that you was the queen, you were forced to marry him, even though you didn't want to.

You were 26, but your parents had taught you the things you had to know and do since a young age. That's why you were ready already. And you had no other choice. But still. Sitting on the throne, having to make hard decisions and being forced to marry to a stupas ass guy who you didn't even know really was annoying. But you had no other choice. Your kingdom counted on you.

And now there were threats from the kingdom of the west, those who lived next to the unending salt waters. They said we were growing too strong and too big to not see as a threat to them.

You were done. Just done, with all your tasks. You wanted a little break, a pause, and maybe go for a walk. You sighed. Maybe I should go for a walk, or maybe a hunt! you thought. You got up from the stair you were in and walked to your closet. You looked around the room. This was your room. It had grey walls, stone walls, and a wooden floor. There wasn't much decoration, only a small plant. A small plant. You opened your closet doors and looked for a good outfit. An outfit that would be good for a hunt. You dug deeper into the closet, and found leather jeans and a simple brown shirt. That's just perfect! You quickly changed to the simple outfit and searched for your boots. The brown boots, made out of leather too, were standing in the corner of the room. You quickly put them on, and then opened the door to the hallway.

You greeted the guards friendly, and they greeted you back. Your guards were always nice to almost everyone. They weren't mean or anything, even sometimes to prisoners. They weren't boring either. You could easily laugh with them, and they were really funny!

When you entered the throne room, you immediately called the name of your commander. Mark, was his name. He ran in, his hand on his sword at his side, ready to attack an intruder if needed. "There's no need to draw your sword, Mark" you said. He nodded and got his hand off the handle of the sword. "Why was I called, miss. (l/n)?" He asked. You laughed and shook your head. "There's no need to call me like that! We're friends! Just call me (y/n), okay?" You said. "I understand, mi- I mean, (y/n)!" He said. "But I was going for a hunt, in the Hillwood Forest. I don't want any guards with me, so I was thinking, do you want to go with me? Not only as a guard, but as a friend too?" You asked. He walked a bit closer and asked: "isn't that very dangerous? And you said there won't be any guards except me, so are we going in secret?!". I nodded and smiled. "If you won't come with me, I'll go on my own!" You said, pushing him to come. He looked at you and his expression became slightly shocked and kinda scared. He shook his head and said: "you can't go on your own! That's way too dangerous!". He seemed to be slightly worried. "And I can't come with you! If they find out, I'll be dead and I'll lose my job as a guard!" He continued. You shook your head and chuckled. He gave you an expression that said: 'what you laughing at?!'. You put a hand on his shoulder. "Mark, did you forget I was the queen? If they find out, I'll make sure they won't kill you, or take your job as guard away". It seemed to calm him down slightly. "But first, you need to get us some bows, alright? Can you do that?". He nodded and smiled. "Be right back, then!" He said, and rushed out of the throne room.

The Hillwood Forest was a forest close to the city of the castle. The name was given, because of the hills the forest was on. It was a very hilly land over here. The trees weren't very high, but still not very climbable. There weren't many branches to hold. Further were there a lot of bushes for animals to hide in.

But now you had to focus on how to get out of the highly secured castle. It will be hard, you knew that. But not impossible. Suddenly, an idea popped up in your head. There was a tunnel under the castle, that only the highest guardsmen knew about. That were about 3 to 4 people. That was a good idea. Now you only had to hope that one of them wasn't checking on the tunnel. But maybe the tunnels were too dark. Then you can take an oil lamp with you. What if the tunnel is collapsed, or the tunnel collapse when you're in it? Then ... we have to find another way.

Mark came back with 2 bows, one for each of us, and a lot of arrows. "Thanks, Mark!" You said and he turned his head away slightly. What did you see on his face? Was it ... blushing? Maybe you saw it wrong. But maybe not. "Okay, come on! I think I know how to sneak out of the castle!" You said and explained the plan. "Were do the tunnels end?" He asked when you were done. "I ... don't actually know ..." you said honestly. Make chuckled. "That sounds like a good plan to me! Let's go then! I actually want to be a little free from my duties too. It's a little too much ..." he said. "You're kidding me!" You said and sighed. You led the way to where the tunnel started. He followed you, and you felt excitement flowing off him. You were excited too, to finally do something else than sitting there and discussing how to protect our kingdom. But that wasn't the only thing you were excited about. You could finally do something alone with your best friend. You never had the time for it. So you just made time. And Mark wasn't just a friend. To you, he was way more than that ...
