The healers soon shooed everyone out of the room except for Charlie and George, who both insisted on staying.
"So, what is wrong with us?" Genny asked, with a slight grin.
"We don't quite know. One thing we do know is that it has to do with that explosion." One of the healers said.
"I think we all knew that," Fred said.
Genny sneezed. She then noticed something. "Chaarrliie!! That idiotic dragon. I can't believe we did that unprepared."
"Gen-what on earth are you-"
"Honestly, I should have been more cautious. It's a known disease for my family to have. Was being-"
"GEN!" Charlie said, fed up with her rant, "What is it?"
"I have bloody dragon pox. Look there are bumps on my arms." Genny said. The healers approached her.
"Almost right, Mrs Weasley. You simply have chicken pox. It's a muggle disease. And certainly less dangerous than dragon pox." she said. Genny let out a sigh of relief. The healer gave her a potion and the spots began to fade.
"Now, this has nothing to do with your legs. Mr Weasley. Could you try standing up?" A healer asked. Fred whipped his legs off the bed and held the edge of the bed. He tried to stand, but his legs gave in and he almost fell.
"Mrs We-"
"Could you please just call us Genny and Fred?" Genny asked.
"Certainly. Genny can you try walking?" the healer asked. Genny tried but with the same results. Another healer began feeling their legs and testing things on them. Her eyes lit up but then died down.
"I found something." She said and began talking to the other healers. Charlie and George walked over and squeezed Genny and Fred's hands respectively. All but one of the healers left the room.
"We are going to have to do this the old fashioned way. Your legs have decided to ignore, so to speak, the magical healing Madame Pomfrey gave them. You have a few fragments and muscle damage that we will have to fix using casts and crutches. The reason it didn't hurt is because both of your internal magic has caused the pain to be less severe, more like a prick." A healer said. Genny and Fred nodded.
"Charlie, George. We have to ask you to stand outside. I'm sorry but it's hospital procedure." A healer said. Charlie and George reluctantly went outside and the healers went to work. After hours of work, both legs on both Weasleys. It was a sight for sore eyes. The healers charmed the casts to cut the time needed to heal.
Charlie and Arthur came in the room and laughed almost instantly. Genny and Fred were sitting on their beds, legs bandaged up, playing Exploding Snap. And Fred was winning. He was bouncing up and down on his bed, his fiery red hair.
"I'm winning!" He exclaimed.
"Yes, you are, you idiot. Now stop jumping up and down." Genny said and slapped a card with her wand. It exploded.
"Now, I believe I'm winning." She said and Fred smirked. "Sure you are Potter." He said and hey continued playing.
"It's Weasley," Genny said and won the game. They looked up to see Charlie and Arthur smirking at them.
"What?! Exploding Snap is a great way to pass the time," Genny said defensively.
"I never doubted it," Charlie said and sat down by her. "It was me who taught Fred, yourself and George how to play."
Genny smirked, "Yes but who may I ask, taught you to play?" She asked. Charlie sighed and pointed to his father. Arthur sat down by Fred and they began to play again. In the end, Arthur beat them all. Molly came in the room, which was full of smoke.
"ARTHUR WEASLEY!!! HOW MANY TIMES D-" Molly started but was interrupted. The smoke cleared soon enough for Genny to get a glimpse of Molly and Arthur kissing and she smiled. There still was hope in the world.
