"It's so nice to meet all of you," Maria said with glee. "You guys are pretty cool."
"Maria," Shadow asked. "How did you cheat death? I saw you shot. I saw you die. How?"
"I don't know guys," Maria sighed. "But because I haven't aged a bit, it's safe to say I was chronologically frozen in time until I woke up. When I woke up, I felt weird but other than that I was fine."
"I don't care," Shadow replied. "As long as you are ok."
"Aww," Sonic's friends said. Shadow looked annoyingly as his friends looked at him.
"I won't let anyone hurt you Maria." But that was about to change the day after, when Shadow was about to know Maria's dark secret.
