Ash looks so cool, Maria thought. He and Iris did save me from whoever those guys were. I like him very much, but should I ask him? They kept walking and Maria also thought about what would happen if she said she liked him, but the ultimate result to her was unknown. Then that's when Maria had instantly realized the identities of the people who were experimenting on her when the attackers used a dark type Pokémon and almost hit Iris.
