Growing Pains

Alex and Tobin woke up to the sun rising.
Alex tried to untangle herself from Tobin so she could go check on Jack.
Tobin groans and tightens her grip around her wife. Alex kisses Tobin's temples and whispers in her ear:"I gotta get up baby."
Tobin groans once again and let's go of her wife, but grabs her hand at the last minute. Alex looks back surprised, and sees that all to Tobin needs is a kiss.
She pecks Tobin's lips and heads out to the living room. Alex comes out to see Jackson sleeping soundly. Now thy she knew he was okay, she started to continue unpacking box after box. Tobin soon follows her, half asleep. When Tobin reaches Alex, she wraps her arms around her and rests her head on Alex's shoulder.
Alex chuckles and says:"How was your sleep?"
"Still in the process." Tobin groans. She's not a morning person.

All the boys wake up and Tobin and Alex make them breakfast. Tobin and Alex were keeping a surprise from their sons today. One that they think they would like.
"So boys." Alex says.
"Someone's coming today.." Tobin adds.
At that moment the door opens and their stands the one and only Allie Long.
"Hand me a baby." Allie says.
"Sorry, no more babies. Just men. Young men." Alex laughs while looking at Allie and then her boys.
Allie pouts and grabs Hunter, bringing in Hunt for a bear hug. "This thing will do." Allie says pretending to sound disappointed.
Tobin and Alex smile.
Allie hugs Grayson and then slowly approaches the couple.
"Seems like just yesterday you guys brought them home." Allie smiled.
"Yea, and then we closed our eyes and... here we are." Tobin says hugging Allie. Alex does the same.
Jackson, feeling left out, calls to the others and says:" there's another person in here guys."
"Don't think I forgot you Jackie." Allie says running in and showering Jack with kisses and hugs. At that moment, Jackson regrets he said that.
The family of 5 catches up with their good friend Allie. Hunter, Allie, and Alex decide to make cookies for everyone, leaving Gray and Jack on the couch playing video games. Tobin decides to finally put together the nightstand her and Alex got at IKEA.

The sweet smell of cookies fills the Heath household. Alex brings in the plate of chocolate chip cookies for everyone. Grayson takes one in his mouth and walks out to the garage. He's had something on his mind that he kinda needs to talk about.
Gray walks out to the garage.
"Hey Gray." Tobin says looking up from then instruction manual she was trying to figure out for hours.
"Hey. Still working on that nightstand?" He says sitting down on a crate.
"Yea, this manual is so damn confusing." Tobin says.
"So, um can we talk?" Gray asks nervously.
Tobin looks up surprised, because Gray isn't the most talkative kid out of three, so this was a rare sighting.
"Yea...." Tobin says getting up and sitting next to her son. "....what's up?" She adds.
Gray clears his throat by chuckling falsely. "Well, I've been having weird feelings lately. Um, like a lot of thinking about my future and it's been stressing me out...."
"Okay..." Tobin says not knowing where this was going.
"You and Mom are athletes and are so successful and I know you guys have high standards for us, and I just want go make you proud of me. And I've been thinking about how I could do that, but I'm stumped every time. It's just, I don't know who I am yet. And I get that comes with time, but I would like a clue so I could try and figure out my life. And I'm scared, of high school, and college, and life. What is my calling?" Gray finishes while looking at Tobin. Tobin chooses her words carefully and says: "Now you see why Peter Pan never wanted to grow up eh?" She makes Gray chuckle.
"....listen buddy. You'll know when you see it. Trust me. What ever happened go being an astronaut or firefighter?" She smiles.
"I'm not a little kid anymore." Gray says sternly.
"I know. That's why you're having this thoughts." Tobin says.
"....listen Grayson. Life is unpredictable. When I was little, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know that I would be a professional soccer player or like girls instead of guys. I didn't know I would have three sons. I had a bunch of imaginary dreams of what I thought my life would be, it's not even close to this. You'll know Gray. What's your calling. So don't worry, god will tell you when He know your ready. You just gotta believe that." Tobin says nudging Gray's arm.
He smiles and says: "thanks mama. That helped a lot."
"No problem buddy." Tobin says.
"Say let's go inside..we can finish this later." Tobin says gesturing to the pile of lose wood and nails.
Gray chuckles and says: "sure." 
They go inside and while Gray goes into the living room, Tobin goes to Alex in the kitchen.
"Everything okay? You've been out there for awhile." Alex says looking at her wife.
"Yea know everything's fine. Just sole growing pains."
The two share a kiss and head back o their family. Tobin thinks about her life and how THIS is what she's supposed to be doing.
