Krestena's Second Year: Book 2

Patronus Prank

Krestena's POV

For my first prank I was going to use my patronus to scar people in the third floor corridor. No one knows I've perfected it yet let alone want it looks like. So as long as I stay hidden, people will think it's a ghost. "Expecto Patronum" I whisper as I hear footsteps and told my patronus "scar".

It run towards the footsteps barking like crazy and I hear Neville's scream. My patronus returned and I said "good job" before it disappeared. Phase one completer and phase two will start soon.  I returned to common room to see Neville telling the golden trio and twins of his encounter with the ghost dog.

"Neville there's no such thing as ghost dogs" Ron tries to tell him.

"Besides if there was, it would have had to die here" Hermione states.

"But a dog has died here Hermione" I tell her. "Wait a second and I'll explain" I assure everyone. Then grabbed the photo of my uncle and his dog Snuffles. "Is this the dog you saw Neville?" I ask showing him the picture.

"Yes that's it but it was transparent and glowed" he states.

"The dogs name is Snuffles, my uncle looked after him during his final year at Hogwarts. But when he left no one else would look after it, he wondered Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in search of my uncle. One day he was found dead in the third floor corridor and people say that they see his ghost the hour he died in. But only if it's a full moon" I explain.

"If that's true why has no one seen him before?" the twins ask smirking.

"Because he died apparently right before curfew and hardly anyone sneaks around the castle after hours. By the time the prefects go there for their patrol the hour is up" I state.

"So your saying if we went there now we'd see this ghost?" Harry asks. I nod my head and he looks at Ron before running upstairs. "Come on guys lets go see it" he tells Hermione and Ron while he holds his cloak. The twins and Neville had already gone up to bed. "You coming Krestena?" he asks me.

"Sorry Harry, I have some homework to do that is due tomorrow" I partly lie. I do have homework but it isn't due until the day after tomorrow. Once they left I conjured my patronus again and said "third floor just walk around, no scar." It nodded it's head and run through the portrait.

"We knew it" the twins voices exclaim making me jumping. "There's no ghost just your patronus" they state as I faced them.

"Though gotta admit it is a good prank to start with, but Hermione will figure it out eventually" George states.

"True, but it'll be fun while it lasts" I remind them and we all laugh quietly. "Top that Gred" I tell him smirking.

"Oh I will, you aren't winning this bet" he replies smirking.

"You know what, why not make this more interesting?"Fred asks.

"What did you have in mind?" George and I ask.

"You prank each other like a real prank war and then we have three impartial judges decide the winner" Fred explains.

"Deal" George and I state shaking hands.

(Meanwhile in the third floor corridor) No one's POV

"Harry this is a waste of time" Hermione whines as they descended the stairs that led to the corridor. As soon as they turn the corner there they see it a glowing dog walking through a wall. "This is not possible" Hermione says. "There's no such thing as animal ghosts" she states.

"Then how do you explain that?" Ron asks pointing at the dog that had yet to notice them.

"Remember reading about something like that in a book" she states trying to remember. "I'll look for it tomorrow" she tells them. Just then the dog vanishes into thin air.

"Come on guys, lets head back to the common room" Harry tells them and they walk back. As they enter the room they see George and Krestena shaking hands. "What's this about?" Harry asks.

"Just a little friendly competition" Krestena states then walks up to her dorm. Hermione says goodnight to the boys before going up stairs herself. She sees Krestena already asleep and notices a book on her bedside table. It was a book on Dementors and how to repel them on the cover was someone using the patronus charm against a dementor.

"I knew I had seen something like that dog before" Hermione whispers picking up the book. She flipped through the pages until she found the patronus charm and how to cast it. But she couldn't figure out why Krestena would scar Neville unless it was a prank and he just happened to be the victim. However, there is no proof Krestena can do the patronus charm or what it looks like if she can.
