Justin woke up slowly, his heavy eyelids were reluctant to open and his mind was still half asleep. The sound of something steadily beeping from next to him was the only thing that was keeping his mind occupied as he tried his best to open his eyes.

"Justin."

Someone was talking to him. He heard them loud and clear but not clear enough for him to be able to decipher who it was exactly that was saying his name. His eyes fluttered and suddenly his arm and shoulder began to ache and his face scrunched up from the pain.
"Justin, hurry. I've not got long." The person seemed impatient and Justin wanted to roll his eyes at whoever it was. They could at least give him a moment to gather himself and work out what the hell was going on.

Because, currently, he had no clue.

Then suddenly Justin's eyes opened, but not for long as the brunette instantly shut them again as he was blinding by the suns shine from what he assumed was a window.
"Ah." He groaned out and instinctively tried to pull his arm up to shield his face from the invading light but he was only met with extreme pain when he did so.
"Ah, what the?..." he trailed off and his eyes snapped open once again but instead of looking straight ahead he focused on his arm. Which was wrapped in a white cast and secured to his chest. He furrowed his eyebrows, what happened to him?

His mind was taken else where when he heard footsteps against the floor and he lifted his head up to follow the sounds. The movement allowed him to look around his surroundings and he effectively managed to work out that he was in a hospital, but he was still struggling to work out how he had ended up here. He gulped, his eyes moving and he found himself searching for whoever was in the room with him.

His head turned to the left and standing tall beside him was a dark brunette wearing a sad expression on his face. The sight of Brooke was confusing at first but the longer Justin stared at him, the more his mind woke up and the more he began to remember.

He remembered being at Brooke's party and sharing a few drinks with him. The next he remembers is being in the woods with Brooke but it's blurry and he can't remember why or how he got there. Then Brooke's gone and he's alone.
"What the hell, Brooke. Where did you go?" Justin suddenly spoke out in an angry tone. His voice wasn't as loud as he had expected and was instead rather quiet and hoarse. Brooke chewed his lip.
"I'm sorry, Justin. I've gotta be quick but I swear I didn't ditch you. I was looking ev..." his frantic apologise was cut off by the door opening suddenly and Justin saw his father step inside with a cup of coffee wrapped in a white napkin in his hands and a scowl resting on his face when he met eyes with Brooke.

Justin swallowed, his throat dry and he could really go a drink of water right now. His eyes flicked from Brooke to his dad and he stared at them both confused.
"Dad?" Justin managed out but his father ignored him.
"I thought I told you to stay away from my son?" Dayton muttered, he was quite evidently angry and Justin was slightly taken back by his tone. He'd never saw his dad angry before - not that he can remember anyway.
Justin watched as Brooke shuffled awkwardly on his feet.
"I just wanted to see he was play, sir." He replied and Justin was even more shocked about how frightened Brooke seemed. It was a drastic change from his usual sarcastic and loose personality.
