"No, mom. You don't have to fly o..." Justin was suddenly cut off him the endless yammering of his mother through his cellphone.

The teenager raised his eyebrows a little in frustration as he pulled the phone from his ear slightly and groaned, closing his eyes and then bringing his phone back to his ear and opening his eyes again.
"Are you sure, Sweetheart? It's no hassle." She reassured and Justin couldn't help but smile as he shook his head and sinking down into the duvet of his bed.
"Mom, I'm sure. Everything is fine here." He told her calmly. He looked over at his desk and checked the time on his alarm clock. It was only 5:35pm, it felt a lot later. Justin still had trouble estimating the time here considering the sky at 5:30 is a lot more dull and gloomy compared to the sky in LA at the same time.

He heard his mother sigh as if something heavy weight on her mind and Justin sat us slightly, leaning his head against his knees that were pulled up to his chest. His back pushed firmly against the headboard of his bed.
"I like it here, with dad and it feels good to be back in Canada. I missed the place, and the lovely weather of our beloved Stratford." Justin giggled humorously and he grinned a little harder when he heard a similar sound from his mom. She worried too much.
"That's great to hear, sweetie." She breathed and Justin could tell she was genuinely glad that he was happy. It caused his stomach to flutter and he suddenly he realised just how much he missed his mom.
"I miss you, mom." He suddenly told her and the line fell silent.

It has always been just him and his mother since they moved when he was nine. Sure he stayed in contact with his dad but it wasn't the same, he wasn't actually there and there's only so much you can say over a phone. Justin doesn't blame his dad, he would never. Dayton loved Justin and that was never a question, Justin was welcome to come and visit anytime he wanted. He just never made the effort and his dad simply didn't have the money to fly out to LA all the time. Justin was glad to be spending this time with his father but it was different and he hadn't realised how much he relied on his mother.
"I miss you too, Justin." His mother spoke back in her usual sweet voice. Justin smiled alone in his room as he held the cell tightly to his ear.

He heard the sounds of a car from outside and he figured that his father was home from work. He didn't take much notice though as his mother continued to speak through the phone.
"So, your new friends sound great." She began and Justin nodded a little as he lifted his head from his knees and extended his neck to see if he could catch a glimpse of his father from his window but the cop car was parked too far to the left and Justin could only half the car.
"Is there any cute boys you've got your eye on?" His mom said and Justin's attention was suddenly grasped by her again and his mind began to flood with images of one person. He licked his lips as he gulped.
"Uh..no-not really." He stuttered and he heard his mom laugh loudly but he was too busy trying to shake Jason McCann from his mind.
"Who are you trying to convince?" She replied and Justin could tell from her tone of voice that she was smirking.
