Dana hurried down the hallway towards the school gym, tying her long brown hair into a ponytail as she ran. She had been late to the past four P.E lessons, and she knew if she was late for a fifth, she would most definitely get a detention (she was surprised she hadn't already, to be honest).
As she tucked her white gym shirt into her dark blue shorts, she reached the door of the gym, spotting her best friend Wyatt stood by the door, and his annoying friend Gary stood next to him.
"Hi Wyatt," she greeted, standing next to the brunette, and interrupting their conversation about 'parties and women'.
Gary glared at her, "Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to interrupt? We were in the middle of a fantasy,"
"First of all, interrupting you is not something I care about, secondly, you know that it's just a dream, right?" she asked, crossing her arms, and smirking at Gary.
"You know she's right," Wyatt added, "Nobody likes us, nobody,"
Dana cleared her throat, "So I'm nobody?"
"No, I meant-"
"Yes, yes you are," Gary smirked, turning to Wyatt, "And anyway, why are you messing with the fantasy? We know about the reality, but don't ruin the fantasy, okay?"
Wyatt nodded, whilst Dana rolled her eyes; ever since she could remember, her and Gary didn't get along, the only reason they tolerated each other, was because they were both best friends with Wyatt – at least, that's what she thought before their crazy weekend started.
"And then," Gary continued, "We're popular, we're studs, and when the smoke clears, right, those two babes," he pointed to Deb and Hilly, the most popular girls in school, "fall amazingly, completely, and totally, in love with us Wyatt,"
Dana rolled her eyes, and was about to walk away, before she heard someone yell behind her, "Check us out!"
She turned to see Gary and Wyatt's mouths hanging open, and their pants on the floor; obviously, the work of two idiots that go by the name of Ian and Max.
After what felt like hours with everyone staring at them, she cleared her throat and motioned to their pants, causing the two to sheepishly pull them up – Wyatt pulling his up extra high.
"Look, w-we're sorry about-" before Wyatt could finish, Gary's hand was covering his mouth, and he was leading him out of the gym.
Since Dana was the only one stood there, everyone's gaze turned to her, so she awkwardly waved before running after the two boys.
When she found them, they were stood by the lockers, Wyatt's hand was on Gary's shoulder, whilst Gary repeatedly muttered, "I can't believe that just happened,"
The boys look up when she arrived, Wyatt meekly smiling, whilst Gary rolled his eyes, "No need to be angry at me blondie, I wasn't the one that pulled your pants down," she remarked.
"No, but if you didn't distract us we probably would've realised they were there," Gary retaliated, folding his arms, and leaning back against the lockers, looking miserably up at the ceiling.
"You're seriously blaming this on me!"
"Yeah, I'm blaming it on you! You're such a-"
"Guys!" Wyatt yelled, making the two stop, and turn to him, although still slightly glaring at each other, "How about a sleepover at my place, this weekend, to cheer everyone up,"
"As long as she's not there,"
"As long as he's not there,"
Wyatt groaned, leaning against the lockers, "You two annoy the shit out of me, ya know that?" he muttered.
