After a long week of readjusting to high school life, it's finally Friday.

To say that was a long week would be the understatement of the year, even the century.

The snarky comments and obvious whispers are yet to die down and I'm pretty sure they aren't even trying to hide the fact that they're talking about me.

I still haven't had an encounter with the lovely Nina Anderson. Thank fuck.

And Home economics has been...fun?

Well I wouldn't go as far as to say fun. I'd say more bearable than anything.

Ethan and I leave our differences at the door and just get on with our work.

Speaking of home economics work. Both Ethan and Sebby are coming over today after school to practice baking our first cake option; sponge cake.

We decided to start with a simple recipe. You can't mess up sponge cake right?

My house is the best option since I have to be home with Amelia while mom is working.

"Yo Merritt!" Sebastian's playful tone shouts across the hallway at the end of the school day, earning me a few questioning looks from most of Redwood High's female population.

"Hey Sebby." I give him a little wave.

"Your house tonight yeah? Ethan too?"

Heat rises to my cheeks as the whispers start.

Sebby made it sound like they were coming over for something other than baking a cake. Great, even that sounded like an innuendo.

"Shut up Sebastian." I mutter as I grab his elbow and lead him away from prying eyes.

"Jesus dude. You made it sound like I'm sleeping with you back there." I rub a hand over my frustrated face and let out a breath.

"Oh shit. Oops. It wasn't meant to sound like me and Ethan are going over for a threesome." He awkwardly scratches the back of his neck.

"Who's having a threesome?" Ethan's deep voice cuts into our conversation.

"NO ONES HAVING A THREESOME." I frustratedly shout. Students stop and look my way on their way out.

"Go about your day people. Nothing to see here! No threesomes shall be had" Sebby exclaims over the whispers.

"Fucking hell, that was awkward." I let out a laugh at this whole situation.

"Yeah..." Sebby trails off into a burst of laughter.

Soon after Ethan and I join in.

"Ever since you came back Ash, I have a habit of laughing like a walrus in the hallways." Sebby's comment sends us all back into a fit of laughter.

A knock on my front door jolts me out of my peaceful nap on the couch.

I remember watching Cinderella with Amelia, then I must of dosed off.

"Who are you?" Amelia's quiet voice comes from the front door.

I let out a yawn and stretch my arms into the air.

Wait- who the fuck is Amelia talking to.

I run to the front door about to bitch slap whoever is talking to my daughter.

"Amelia! I told you not to answer the door! It could be any- oh hey guys." My eyes travel to Ethan and Sebby standing outside my front door; shopping bags in hand.
