I can't believe I was naive enough to think that my father came here for me, for Amelia. Of course he didn't.
He just wanted to take me away from mom.
He can't have everything, he can't have both families, and he's chosen Lauren and Macy over us.
We just have to move on. I can't spend the rest of my life wishing he'd one day realize he's made a mistake and come running back to us. He's never coming back.

Something strange happened last night.
When Ethan came into my window, he didn't ask me to explain. He didn't force me to open up, he didn't push me for information.
And I don't think I've appreciated anyone as much.
He just went to sleep, but he was there if I needed him; and that's all I could ever ask for.
But unfortunately, my nightmares don't take nights off.
I woke up and barely made it to the toilet before I vomited.
But to my utter surprise Ethan followed me in and held my hair back. He didn't say anything, he was just there.
I cleaned myself up in the shower and climbed into bed with a smile on my face, the faint sound of his snoring filling the room.
When I woke up the next morning he was gone but he had left a note;

I smiled down at the piece of paper and got dressed, a foreign emotion filling my heart.
