"H-hey, brother, are you okay?" The small skeleton asked, helping the other small skeleton up from his position on the floor.
"Yeah, but..." The other one responded, pausing as he took notice of his outfit, making a panicked expression appear on his face. "WHY DO I LOOK LIKE THIS?! WHERE ARE MY TENTACLES?!"
"Whoa, Nightmare, calm down-"
"DON'T YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO, DREAM!" Nightmare yelled at his brother, Dream, accompanying it with a glare.
Dream was wearing a light blue and yellow outfit with yellow gloves and a bright yellow cape draped around himself. Nightmare was wearing a similar outfit to his brother, but it was dark purple/blue and black, with some small instances of yellow, and had longer sleeves, no gloves, and no cape.
Keeping calm, while his brother was still in a rage, Dream looked around at where they were. It was a pretty big room, with no windows, the only exit being a big and very old-looking wooden door. On the walls hung various paintings, and there were stands with different vases and sculptures displayed on them. The one Dream was standing right next to was the only one without anything on it, and it was chipped like it had fallen or someone had attacked it.
"Where do you think we are?"
Before his brother could respond, they heard the door creak open, turning to look at it. Dream smiled widely as relief and happiness flooded right through him when he saw who came through the door.
"Ink!"
------------------------------------------
"Why did we have to start with the outside pieces exactly?" Blackberry asked, watching you finish the frame of a 1000 piece puzzle that you had found in one of the board game closets. You were in the game room with him this lovely Tuesday evening, since you wanted to get to know him better since you haven't had the chance beyond the moments with his brother.
"Starting with the outside makes it easier to assemble the inside," You explained, placing the last piece into place, "Haven't you ever done a jigsaw puzzle before?"
"How dare you accuse me of not knowing how to do a simple puzzle such as this?!" Blackberry angrily shouted, standing up so he'd be taller than you while you were sitting. "These types of puzzles are for baby-bones! If I wasn't allowing you to do some of the work, I'd already be done with it!"
As you put another piece in place, you tried to ignore his outburst. Since he looked very similar to Blueberry, it was hard for you to be afraid of him, but you knew he was very much like Paper-cut personality-wise, so you weren't completely relaxed with him around.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" Ink happily yelled, cracking open the door and popping his head into the room, "We've got some more visitors for you to meet!"
"Okay! I'll be right there!" You told him. He left and closed the door as you got up from where you were sitting. Walking to the door, you looked behind at Blackberry. "Since you're good at puzzles, you can solve the rest of it without me." You could hear him huff and plop himself down to continue on the puzzle as you left the room.
-------------------------------------------
Ink guided you to a small living room, and when you stepped in, you could see two skeletons that were the same size as Blueberry. Their outfits were similar, with small differences such as color. Ink and the two turned their attention to you as soon as you entered.
"(Y/N), these two are Dream and Nightmare," Ink said, pointing to each one as he said their names, "Guys, this is (Y/N)."
The brightly-colored one, who was named Dream, happily came over to you and shook your hand, smiling wide. "It's nice to meet you!"
"It's nice to meet you too," You told him. Looking up from him towards Nightmare, the dark-colored one, you could see he still stood in the same place, and didn't look as happy as his brother.
Ink had told them of the situation and who was already there. Dream was happy that Blueberry was there as well, and you learned that they, with Ink, formed a group called the "Star Sanses", who worked together to basically fight evil and protect their universes. You thought it was adorable.
Dream and Nightmare were brothers, and you knew exactly how to decorate their room for them. On one side, it was filled with lighter colors such as light blue, yellow, and white. The other side was much darker, and had dark blue, purple, and black as it's main colors. The sign on the door even had a star next to Dream's name and a crescent moon next to Nightmare's.
"Wow! This is amazing!" Dream exclaimed, checking out his bed. Nightmare was curiously looking around his side of the room. You had noticed that he hasn't said or done anything, and mostly just followed his brother around the entire time you've known the two.
After Dream had checked out the entire room, he had run off to surprise Blueberry with his presence. Nightmare stayed in the room, keeping his attention on some of the decor on his side. Instead of running off and leaving him alone, you decided to walk over to where he was. His back was to you, so you decided to tap his shoulder to get his attention. He probably thought you had left, so he had jumped slightly and turned around quickly when you tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, I never got the chance to say so," You started, slightly bending down to his height and holding out your hand to him, "But it's nice to meet you, Nightmare."
He glanced between you and your hand, finally taking it and shaking it. His grip was extremely gentle but firm enough to where you weren't just holding his hand and shaking it. "Nice to meet you too..." He muttered, looking at the ground with his head turned to the side.
Once he let go, you stood straight up and turned around, walking to the door. "You know..." You said, looking back at him, "You don't have to stay in your room the entire time. There are plenty of things to do around here. I don't want you to get bored, so check them out if you want."
Done with what you had to say, you left, leaving him alone as he stared at the door.
