Talia's POV

I abruptly woke up to the sound of my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I mumbled, still half asleep.

"Hello, is this Miss King?"

"This is Miss King; may I ask who is calling?"

"This is Andrew from Island Records. I was calling to see if you would be interested in opening up for the Shawn Mendes Illuminate World Tour. We have seen your covers on social media and think you have a very bright future."

"Shawn Mendes?"

"Tall Canadian boy. Does that ring a bell?"

"Oh, yea. Funny story, he was just actually sitting next to me. Anyways, besides the point."

"That great that you know him. I'll give you a few days to talk it over with your family and such. Ring me when you have your answer."

Andrew ended the call.

"SHAWN FREAKING MENDES!" I shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"TALIA FREAKING KING!" he mocked me.

"Get your ass down here right now!"

Shawn jogged down the stairs all ready for the day. He was wearing black jeans and a gray t-shirt.

"What's up?" I asked when he reached the bottom of the stairs.

"How would you feel if someone joined you on tour this year?" I asked, keeping my cool.

"Who would that be?"

"Well, a buddy of yours, Andrew, ringed me up and asked if I wanted to join you form tour, Now, I don't want to go if you don't want me there and I will totally understand because I know I get on your last nerve sometimes but I thought I was wo-"

Shawn cut me off by pressing his lips onto mine.

"That's a good way to shut me up." I blushed as we pulled away.

Shawn smiled, "I would love it your joined me on tour. Do you want to go practice at the studio?"

I nodded my head yes, "I just have to go home and get ready. Want to join?"

Shawn agreed to go with me, so we both got in his Jeep and drove to my house.

-

"Andrew, this is Talia. Talia, this is Andrew." Shawn introduced us.

"Nice to meet you. Thanks for inviting me on the tour." I shook his hand.

"I'm looking forward to having you join us, that is if you are." Andrew looked at me with pleading eyes.

"I don't see why I can't." I smiled.

"I would love to meet your mother. Is there any way you can have her stop by today?"

Tears filled my eyes, "I'm sorry, I don't think that's possible."

"Is there any way I can meet her somewhere? Speaking from experience, parents like to know the whole rundown." Andrew explained.

"Andrew, please stop." Shawn butted in.

"It's fine Shawn." I intertwined our fingers together.

"My mother passed away a few days ago." I bit my lip, not letting the hot tear fall.

"I'm so sorry, Talia." He apologized.

"Don't be sorry, you didn't know." I smiled, fighting to drop from my eyes, "Will you excuse me for a minute?"

Both Shawn and Andrew nodded their heads. I walked rather quickly out of Andrews office and found the nearest women's restroom. I locked the stall closed the toilet seat so I could sit on it. Tears uncontrollably fell from my eyes and there was no stopping them.

"Talia?" Shawn's voice echoed from the tall ceilings, "Are you in here?"

He softly knocked on the wooden door. I unlocked the bathroom stall and walked out. He stepped closer to me, embracing my body in a hug,

"I thought I could do it," I cried.

"Thought you could do what, baby?" Shawn asked, his voice laced with fear.

"I thought I could be strong and be okay with people talking about her. I'm not over it yet."

Tears fell faster from my eyes. Shawn pulled me ever closer to his body.

"Love, it's not easy to get over someone that fast. Greif takes time. Someday that day will come. You will be able to talk about her without feeling sadness." Shawn kissed the top of my head, calming me down.
