Odell..
"Can I at least see my daughter please". I had asked the female officer. "You have five minutes Beckham". She allowed me to walk in. I sat on the other side of the glass, glancing at my baby mother with Skye sitting on her lap. It broke my heart to see her eyes glitter when I came into her view. I sat and lifted the telephone to my ear. Skye, thinking it was some sort of a game excitedly picked up on the other side. "Hi Daddy". She smiled. I couldn't help but grin. "Hi baby, I miss you so much". "When are you coming to get me?". She had asked, toying with the telephone wire. "Soon. I just want you to know that Daddy loves you. Okay?". She nodded her head and put her hand up the glass. "A and F". She quoted. I put my hand up to the glass as well. "Always and forever". I could see her mother whisper her something before getting the phone for herself. "I hope your happy with yourself Odell". "I know I made a mistake. But as soon as I get out of here I'm coming to get my daughter". "As soon as you get out of here you going to get yourself together. Skye is staying with me". "No the hell she isn't. All you do is sit there with your Drug dealing ass boyfriend and abandon Skye. Anything could happen to her. She's safer with me". "And look where your at Odell. In a damn prison charged with drug possession". "And if I was to snitch to these authorities about what the hell you do in the closed doors of your own home, you would be locked in a cell right along with me. So don't you sit here and talk down to me like your the most perfect mother because I know you aren't". "Says the dead beat father who's just now joining Skye's life". "At least I'm here now, and that's all that matters". "Your not here, anymore, Odell". She hung up the phone pulling Skye away to leave. Skye waved her little hands and I had watch them walk out the door. "Seems as if your time is up Beckham lets go".
No One's Perspective
"Mommy I'm going to be a model". Skye innocently proclaimed, as Melanie strapped her in her little booster seat. "What are you talking about Skye". Skye reached into her coach Jacket and revealed to her mother what appeared to be a crumpled up business card. With one glance and a little bit of reading, Melanie nodded her head, knowing what she meant.
On her way to the building where Shutter Up Photography was, Melanie had picked up her Boyfriend, to add a little fun to her ride. "Cam, how much do you make today baby?". The infamous Cam Newton grinned in the passenger seat, "Made enough to support us for life". Melanie let out a small squeal. With that, Cam began rolling a back wood, in celebration for him getting rich off cannabis selling. He tucked it in between his lips before letting out a wad of smoke. "This shit good baby". He spoke, laying his head back on the seat. He began offering Melanie some. Melanie hastily rejected until Cam began to get hostile. "Take the shit Melanie, I'm not finishing it off on my own". Melanie leaned in and took a small puff of the blunt and began coughing a bit, still driving. "Mommy,". Skye began, coughing too. "Mommy that stuff stinks". "This is what a real man do, Skye. Your father ain't no real man like me. Fa sho". He gave her a toothy grin along with it. "Real men smoke?". Skye asked out of curiosity. "Real men know how to handle their business. Your father is a fucking psycho. Look at this". Cam dropped a whole wad of cash on his jeans. "How much yo daddy making? Ain't nun like this. If anything, i can take care of you better than he can. But i don't want no damn kids though". He stated before taking the blunt from Melanie's lips and getting some for himself. Skye sat back and wandered if her father Odell was really the man he appeared to be, or if Cam was the real father she needed.
"Okay baby, Call me when your ready". Skye nodded at her mother from in the car. She imagined if her father Odell was here, he'd be taking her in himself. But, she swallowed her imagination and began walking up the steps as she heard her mother's vehicle drive off. She turned and asked a couple of specialist where the man was located, and along with quick questions wondering why she was here alone, they led her to his studio.
"There's the beauty i've been waiting for". The jeery man abruptly stopped what he was doing to pinch Skye's cheeks. She let out a small smile. "You ready to be a star?". Skye excitedly nodded as two women handed her outfits to try on. Skye put her things down and walked to the changing room.
After a few moments, Skye was all ready to go, before her door swung open. "Change of plans Skye, Put this on". He handed her a Floral Adidas Sweat suit. Skye nodded, taking the clothes from him. She waited for him to leave so she can get changed, but he didn't. "I have to get dressed, sir". she mentioned. "Get changed Skye, don't mind me". He closed and locked the door behind him. The sound of the lock startled Skye. But she thought of being on the cover of magazines and got re motivated again. She slowly pulled her clothes down, nervously trying to hurry up. "Skye turn around". The man requested, She turned her head slightly glancing at the man. "W-why". "Skye, do you want to be a star?". She innocently nodded her head. "Then turn around". He demanded.
Skye was mortified. She wanted to be on tv and magazines but she couldn't help but to think about what took place. She posed cute, and forced a smile. The women squealed, overwhelmed by Skye's cuteness. "These pictures are going to be a hit! We're going to sell out in no time".
"Don't you tell a bloody soul". He scowled before walking Skye out the door. Skye was then left in the hallway alone. She haven't had a man do things to her like that. She began missing her father, and with that, tears ran down Skye's precious brown cheeks.
