"So our Autumn break is approaching", Aiden whispered.

I risked taking a glance at him, before going back to reading my copy of the Romeo and Juliet, we had been assigned to read, quietly.

"Oh come on.", he groaned. I stifled my laughter behind my fist, as I rolled my eyes at his childish antics.

"Grace, Grace, Grace, Gra-", Aiden was cut off suddenly.

"Mr. Maddox", Mrs. Stone, our English teacher barked, "stop flirting with Ms.Parker and get back to your reading, right this insistence!"

I blushed red at her words as everybody started whispering around us. Aiden Maddox had never ever been linked to a girl throughout his whole high school life. But now, suddenly he was hanging around me and 'flirting', as Mrs.Stone oh-so-nicely put.

Everybody was curious for gossip and just wanted more.

"Gee, jealous much?", Aiden retorted, as our teacher fumed in anger. Everybody burst into fits of laughter as the now beetroot red Mrs.Stone shouted, "Keep it down!"

Mrs.Stone glared at Aidan but didn't say anything.
Everybody knew it, the teachers, the students, the staff that it was better not to mess with Aiden Maddox and let him do his own thing. It saves time and energy, they reckon.

But I knew better. I knew that Aiden was not all the badass he made people view him as. He was a total softie at heart.

"So as you know our Autumn break is approaching", Aiden told me," There is some music festival happening in L.A and it happens to fall right on the days of our break. I was thinking we should go there. It's going to be fun."

"Aiden", I spoke slowly, as if to make him understand my words clearly," We live in New York"

"I know", Aiden stared at me.

"Yeah, so my point is that it's too far. I don't think my foster parents will allow me to accompany you till there. And besides, I definitely know that you aren't the music festival type guy. Please."

Aiden gasped dramatically and paused to lay a hand over his heart. " How can you say that I'm not the music festival type guy. I'm so too."

I stared at him sharply.

"Fine, fine. You caught me. I'm not  those types. No way in hell. But my mom is dragging me there, and I don't want to be bored all alone there, while my mom goes crazy with her friends. Yet I don't want to say no to my mother."
Aiden's cheeks turn a little pink as he says the last sentence under his breath. Yet I hear him perfectly, as I'm seated right besides him.

A grin finds its way across my face as I wiggle my brows at the boy in next to me.

"Mama's boy, huh?"

"No! It's not like that!", Aiden denies quickly. Too quickly, if you ask me.

"Ohhh, really?", I laugh. I loved seeing him squirm under my gaze.

"Shutup", he mutters.

"So are you in, or what?", he swiftly changes the subject. I let it go, for his sake.

"I don't know...", my smile drops from my face," I'd love to go. But my foster parents..."

Aiden sighs heavily as he runs a hand through his dark hair.
