Mark got home pretty late that night. He had sent all day recording with his friend. "I'm home!" he said as he closed the door behind him. Both men were no where to be seen. "They must be asleep." He walked to the couch and sat down. As he reached for the remote, he noticed Ethan's shirt was on the floor. "How did that get there?" He thought to himself. He then realized. "Wait...could they have...?" He walked up the stairs and noticed the door to the spare bedroom was cracked open. When he peaked inside he saw both men sleeping. "Did they?" Mark didn't know what to think. He then noticed the clothes spread all over they floor. "Oh my god they did!!!" Mark began to silently fangirl. "Oh my god they're a thing!!" He then quietly closed the door. As he proceeded down the hall to his room he realized something. "Wait...they became a thing...in my bed?!" He then dropped his shoulders and whined quietly. "Oh come on." He walked back into his room and closed the door. He tossed his bag on the bed and pulled off his shirt. "I got to take a shower." He thought to himself. He proceeded down the the small hallway to the bathroom. He took a quick shower and rapped a towel around his waist. When he got out he noticed he got a text from Kat. "I need your help. Please call me." It read. Mark grew worried and gave her a call. When she picked up the phone she was crying. "Kat what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Kat tried to speak but was sniffling gasping. "Kat are you outside right now? It sounds like you are?" Kat then tried to speak. "I...I need your help...please." Mark worried even more. "Kat tell me what going on." Kat quickly caught her breath. "My...my ex boyfriend came to my house today...He was being all apologetic and I believed him." Kat began to sniff and cough more. "What happened?" Mark asked. Kat sniffed and tried to collect herself. "We were drinking a lot. Then he kept putting his hands on me and tried to get me to sleep with him. I told him no but he wouldn't listen." Mark felt his blood boil. "Where are you? I'm coming to get you." Kat breathed heavily. "No no I don't want to burden you. I just don't have anyone else to call and he's still trying to find me. I ran out of my house to get away from him and he followed me." Mark quickly got dressed and put on his shoes. "Kat. Tell me where you are. What street are you by?" Kat coughed a few more times before speaking again. Fairview...I'm on Fairview and 36th." Mark grabbed his car keys and got in his car. "Just stay on the phone okay?" Mark pleaded. "Okay." she sniffled.
"I'm only a few blocks away." Mark pleded once more. "Oh my god...I see him." Kat cried. "What!?" Kat began to cry harder. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!" She screamed. "Kat!" Mark heard a muffled voice yelling at her. "who are you talking to!?" They voiced yelled. "None of your fucking business Shane!" Mark came to the street where Kat was standing. He say her ex grab her and try to pull her away. "HEY! Get your hands off of her!" Mark barked as he slammed the door to his car. The man looked up at Mark while gripping Kat's arm. He was about the same height as Mark and was wearing sunglasses. He had a green Mohawk as well. "Who the fuck are you!?" He yelled back. Mark was filled with anger. "It's none of your business who I am. You just need to let her go and walk away!" Mark warned. "You threatening me?" The man sneared. Leave him alone Shane!" Kat yelled with tears in her eyes. In a fast motion, Shane slapped Kat across her face, knocking her to the ground. When she look up at Mark, a fresh cut was on her lip and she was dripping blood. Mark charged at the man. He then grabbed him by his shirt and punched him in the mouth. Shane fell to the ground as his sunglasses broke. "You made a big mistake man." Shane laughed as he stood back up.
"Get to the car Kat." Mark was furious. "But Mark-" Mark cut her off. "Now." Kat nodded as he ran to the car. "What do you think you're going with my girl?" Shane scowled. Mark laughed out loud. "She's not yours. She's not property. Just walk away Shane." Shane laughed but Mark still stood his ground. "This isn't over boy." Shane laughed as he stumbled away. Mark turned and walked back to the car. Kat was shaking when he sat down in the drivers seat. A bruise was forming where Shane was grabbing her and she had a big gash in her lip. "You okay?" Mark asked in a soothing voice. She shook her head no. "Do you want to stay with me tonight?" He asked as he put a hand on her shoulder. She nodded as a few more tears fell down her scarred face. Mark started the car and began the drive back home. As they drove and Kat remained silent, Mark noticed how bad the gash in her lip was. "You know, you might have to get stitches for that cut in your lip." Kat still remained silent. "If you don't it might heal wrong." Kat still didn't say anything. Mark didn't like see her like this. He wanted her to know that he cared. But he kept his mouth shut. They got to the house and they walked inside. He held Kat close to him as they walked to the couch. When they sat down, Kat was still crying a little. Mark wasn't having this. He wasn't going to let her feel this way. "Listen Kat. I'm sorry that this happened. I'm really happy that you called me and I'm really happy that you're safe now. I just want you to know that if I didn't care I wouldn't have come to get you."
All of a sudden Kat dropped her head to her chest and began to cry. Mark reached over and pulled her into a hug. "I'm so sorry Mark! I'm so sorry! This is all my fault!" Mark could smell the liquor on her. "Shh...Kat it's not your fault." Kat cried harder. "It is my fault! I let him in! I trusted him! God I'm so stupid!" Mark held her close her him. "No Kat. You're so great. You love people without strings. You just have such a big heart." Kat sniffed a few times before lifting her head. She was looking right into Mark's eyes. "You really think so?" She looked like a sad puppy to him. "Of course Kat." She leaned closer to him. Mark felt his face heat up. "Uh...Kat?" She leaned a little closer to him while he leaned back. She stopped moving closer when she was almost completely on top of him. Mark didn't know what to do. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to tell her how he felt, but she was drunk. Before Mark could protest, Kat gently pressed her lips against hims. Mark flinched and blushed as she ran her fingers through his hair. Mark quickly realized what was going on and interrupted the kiss. "Kat..." He muttered. Kat was so drunk that she wouldn't listen to him and tried to kiss him again. But Mark didn't let her. "Kat. You're drunk...You just went through a lot of stuff with your ex and you're feeling vulnerable. I can't take advantage of that." Kat sighed and leaned back.
"I...I'm sorry Mark...It's just that...no one has ever cared about me like you do." She started to tear up again. "I'm so sorry Mark." Then Mark gently pulled off her big glasses and wiped her eyes. "I'm always going to care about you Kat. There's nothing you could fuck up to change that." Kat smiled a little bit and rapped her arms around him. "Thank you Mark." She whispered. He blushed a little while he rapped his arms around her small shoulders. They hugged a little longer before Mark asked. "Do you want to go to bed?" She nodded and they proceeded up the stairs. "You can sleep in my bed and I'll give you something to sleep in. I'll even drive you to work in the morning." Kat smiled really big. "Thank you so much Mark." She hugged him one last time before Mark dug around in his dresser. "Here. You can wear this." He handed her a flannel and his Markiplier themed sweatpants. "Thank you so much Mark. This means so much to me." She stumbled a little as she walked down the hall to the bathroom. When she came back out, Mark turned bright red at the sight of little Kat wearing his clothes. She walked up to him and kissed him again. She had to go on her toes to reach his lips. It was a very gentle, very passionate kiss. "Goodnight Mark." She took off her glasses and crawled into the bed and yawned. Mark smiled before closing the door behind him. "Goodnight." He then leaned against the closed door and sighed. He was exhausted. He walked down the stairs to the couch and lied down. He fell asleep almost insistently. He was happy to know that Kat was safe now.
