Hazel's vision was blurry and there was a persistent pain at the back of her head.

Her hands and legs were restrained. She tried to move. The ropes pressed against her skin, evoking a sensation of pain. Her hands brushed against someone's.

" Ced." she hissed, "Is that you ?"

There was no reply. " Ced ?" she repeated.

" Er ...yes." he said, drowsily, "Are you alright?"

" Yes. Do you remember what happened ?" she whispered.

" Bandits. I think they've taken us captive. They must have struck us from behind."

"Yeah. I can still feel the blow at the back of my head. Why do you think they attacked us ?"

"I think they took our possessions. Maybe they wanted our weapons. They're priceless, of course."

"Well, I hope so. Because if they knew we're rebels and the reward announced by the Council for our capture..."

" We must untie ourselves." Ced said.

Hazel closed her eyes, imagining the knots of the ropes untying themselves. She felt the ropes slowly loosening around her wrists. She was now able to wriggle her hands out of their hold. Ced had done the same. They untied their feet.

Ced quickly grabbed a shard of glass that he found lying on the floor.

They left the room as soundlessly as they could. Suddenly, Hazel bumped into someone. The man looked at them with shock. Before he could utter a word, Ced slashed his wrist and quickly tackled him, placing his hand on his mouth.

They could only hope no one was in the vicinity to hear the man's muffled protests.

In a matter of minutes, the man passed out. They dragged him into the room. Now, they had limited time.

"Where could the weapons possibly be ?" Hazel wondered.

" I don't really know . But I have a feeling that it's the next room we come across." Ced said.

They silently slipped into the next room. There was no one inside. But they found their weapons in a stack of random items.

They wasted no time in grabbing them and leaving.

But as they stepped out, a group of bandits greeted them.

" Look at these poor teeny weenies ! Thought they could easily escape out of here , eh ?" a lady sneered.

" But you mustn't say that Jess , look at what competition they've given us !" There was another round of guffaws.

" I think we should applaud them , really ! Such bravery can only be called foolishness, after all !" , another remarked , " Thinking they could outwit 'The Big Bad Wolf' ?"

" What do you mean ?" Hazel asked .

" That is the what we call ourselves ; our brigand." Jess said, "The Big Bad Wolf."

" What to do of them now, Jessica ?" one asked .

" Kill them, certainly. But not so fast. There's no harm in playing around for a while. We will enjoy a show tonight."

Hazel desperately wished someone would magically appear to help them out of the situation they had landed in. She definitely did not want to die at the hands of these bandits. She imagined it be a pitiful end to her life.

She felt someone grab her hair tightly. She kicked him making him let go. Hazel knew that she did not have much energy in her. She could not use her powers against these bandits and Ced could not fight so many at a time, even with his sword, as his hands were bruised from being tied so long.

Jessica smirked at her. She walked up to Hazel and pushed her down. She was too strong. The heel of her boot crushed Hazel's palm.

Ced tried to attack Jessica but was held back by two strong men.

She grabbed hold of Hazel's chin and looked straight into her eyes. " Well , dearie. Aren't you going to be fun?"

" Don't know about her, but I sure as hell am !" a man said. The bandits holding Ced were kicked to the ground.

Hazel saw Edyta and Edina, along with the Huntsman.
