One girl.
One lie.
One true villain.
Can Isabella find the truth behind Herobrine before time runs out, or will she die trying?
~.
Isabella is your average, run-of-the-mill fangirl. She reads stories about incredible things happening to random girls, and wishes that it could happen to her. But they're just stories; stories made up by fangirls, the unrealistic dreamers of society. Right?
Suddenly, Isabella finds herself in over her head, in the blocky world of Minecraft. But how did she get there?Summary:
Isabella is an average fangirl, dreaming of finding a way to Narnia, or finding a jutsu to bring her to the Naruto-verse. Anywhere but this dull, boring life of hers. One day, she's ecstatic to find that she's been chosen to be one of the beta testers for the new VR version of Minecraft. However, once she put on the headset, there was no turning back- she was stuck in the blocky world of Minecraft... Along with a hundred other people. Just like SAO! Apparently a lot of other people *cough* fangirls *cough* realised that as well, and many theories started to pop up. One of the most popular theories was that it was Herobrine's doing- after all, the situation was like something straight from an anime! But they couldn't sit around formulating ideas anymore, because they were quickly getting picked off one by one. And when you died, there was no respawning. To their knowledge. But as the players looked around, they realised that maybe it wasn't just a game. It turns out that it was actually an alternate dimension where Minecraft was real- and there were people living in it! Herobrine decides to show his face, and things only went downhill from there. Isabella learns that life isn't fair. Angst happens. And suddenly... Plot twist! Herobrine isn't the bad guy. He's merely a puppet in the hand of the true villain... Notch. Lol, kidding, there is no 'bad guy'! Cassandra and Herobrine just want revenge on those who have wronged them, and Notch was traumatised. And yes- there is a bad guy. Who also turns out to be an ex-good guy but life happened.
Note: She has... A pendant.
Note: Similar concept to SAO.

Chapter 17:Basic Outline:
Story starts with mysterious shadowy figures talking. Backstory about Isabella (basically just average boring stuff). Then she gets a letter to be one of the first people to beta test the new Minecraft Vr version at an exclusive Minecon. She gets super excited, and agrees- finally something out of the ordinary happens to her! She goes, mingles for a bit and makes a couple of friends, and then everyone settles down to start. Once they're in Minecraft, Isabella and co. thinks it's great! Everyone there is super excited. But then, someone gets blown up by a creeper, and someone else gets killed by an angry Enderman. Painfully. Of course, seeing as they're all Minecraft veterans, everyone realises that they didn't respawn. One of the people that died's friend decided to go and check on him, because he never respawned, and assumed that his friend was freaked out by getting killed. But after he realises that he can't log off, everyone starts to panic. Especially since night was falling. Isabella decides to run away from the large congregation of people (since they were all in one area, trying to figure out how to open their inventory and so on), because they were trampling people. She runs towards the treetops, and gets away. Sort of. Along the way she bumps into the people she met before, but one of the youngest dies savagely by a zombie. She teams up with them, and decide to go farther away from the mass gravesite. They make themselves at home right next to a mountain biome, and bonding happens. But disaster strikes during a mining trip when the brother of the girl that died also dies due to a tooon of mobs swarming them. (Isabella catches a glimpse of Herobrine's eyes) Their bonds are strained, and there's a lot of tension among them. Then, after Isabella helps a little girl that turned out to be used as bait, they get raided by a bunch of other players, and the others get mad at her while they're held captive, except for one person, who defends her. However, the raiders made a veeeery dumb mistake-they left the door open, and attracted to the smell of blood and sound of screams come the mobs. During the fighting, Imogen- the little girl dies, just before giving Isabella a necklace. (She turns out to be Naomi later on) While everyone's fighting for their lives and dropping like flies, the guy that defended her screams for help, since they're all cornered. But Isabella, shaking with fright, runs. Outside, the mobs are swarming the place, happy for a feast, while the endermen were simply attracted to the place because of all the noise. The rain has stopped momentarily. Isabella makes the mistake of looking into the eyes of a bunch of them, and they give chase. While Isabella was running, she slips on mud and the endermen savagely pounce on her, but then the rain starts up again. Shrieking, they teleport away. Isabella lies there in agony, but a bunch of mobs come to investigate, and she's forced to keep running, nearly slipping multiple times, and starts to look like a porcupine. The skeletons lose interest, but the zombies kept coming, and the endermen were still buzzing around her. She gets cornered, and just as she's about to get ripped apart by the zombies/endermen, a creeper comes out from the cave and blows her off the edge of the ravine, a pnd she goes down.... Into a river! She wakes up in a village, and realises that the villagers look like players. Buuut they're not, and some light is shed on what's going on. The village elder says that they have lived there all their lives, and they weren't players. He tells Isabella some of Minecraftia's history: Long ago, a distance star died, and created a large supernova. Parts of the star landed on a small, barren rock, covered in a layer of ice. It melted the ice, and- OKAY FAST FORWARD! Basically, the Big Bang happened. Since they live in a different universe though, the rules are different. Anyways, once the huge explosion happened, a bunch of people spawned. There was Andrew, who created the End, Cassandra, who created the Nether, Naomi, the creator of the Aether, and finally Hearth, the one who created life on the Overworld. All was well. Naomi and Hearth fell in love, and had three kids- Notch, Herobrine and Steve. Anyways, after a bunch of misunderstandings, Cassandra snaps at them and Andrew sides with her. They turn Andrew into the Ender dragon, and chain Cassandra up underneath the Void. Notch, Herobrine and Steve grow up happily. However, Herobrine was often shadowed by his smArt brother notch, and Steve was adored because he was the youngest, and good with Redstone. But the thing is, Notch often sabotaged Herobrine and blamed everything on him, as Herobrine was an infamous trouble maker. He also tends to blackmail him. (And Herobrine's name wasn't Herobrine originally. It was brian. After a certain incident though, he got the name 'hero-Brine') However, Notch was chosen to be the successor of Naomi, but only after she died, and Steve was to be Hearth's successor. Notch brags to Herobrine about it, who gets mad and runs away. Alone, hungry, and scared, Herobrine is running away from a bunch of mobs that just spawned, when he falls into a hole. This hole was made during the fight with Cassandra. Inside, Herobrine finds a nether portal, and goes in. Entranced by the place, he wanders around. Then, he finds a second portal, and enters it. He ends up in a dark, abandoned room in the castle. (It used to be Cass's) It soon became his secret place. So for a while, he went back and forth between the realms, until one day, he came across a bunch of people summoning the wither. They were wiped out almost immediately, but Herobrine beat the wither with ease. The nether star was his trophy. He continued exploring and mapping the Nether, until he comes across a really big and fancy stronghold/castle and ventures in. He finds a hidden room and goes inside using the nether star. It was a throne room. That's when he meets Cassandra (who is using mental projection), and learns of the injustice that had befallen her. At first, he's cautious because of tales his parents had told him, but one day after his parents found his growing map of the nether they banned it from going ever again, and acted really mad and disappointed a t him. Like, REAAALLY mad. He goes back anyways, and decides to help Cassandra, 'going to the dark side'. But things aren't always black and white; they're in shades of grey. He fights back against his parents, and ends up going blind when they try to destroy the nether portal. This was his breaking point. This was also the moment when notch and Steve came in, although he didn't see them, and he kills their parents in a fit of rage. In their perspective, Herobrine is the bad guy , because their parents acted like they're the victims. And so, the fight between the brothers began. Cassandra restores Herobrine's sight, a,though they retained their colour. After a fight between Steve and Herobrine, Herobrine decided to lay low for a while after nearly dying. Isabella had heard along the way to the mountains and tons of other people that Herobrine was evil, but their story told a different side to it. Which makes her feel torn. Eventually, after Herobrine makes an announcement to provoke the players, Isabella decides that finding notch was probably a good idea. But it turns out, the village wasn't real. The villagers were long since dead, other than the village elder, who turned out to be the one who made the projections. He tells her the location of a hole, and finds a thick journal that belonged to Herobrine and a broken nether portal, strengthening the authenticity of his story. Afterwards, Isabella decides that she should go to the capital to talk with notch. She goes to the sea and stows away on a pirate ship, and gains their respect on a side adventure. She then goes to the capital. To her surprise, the streets were still filled with people (although not many) and seemed normal enough, but she remained cautious. She makes her way to the castle, and finds that they won't let her see the King. Aka, notch. She then decides to try out some ninja skills, and essentially breaks into the castle. That is, after camping outside. And reading the journal some more.Which means, she knows the general layout of the castle. And part of Herobrine's plan. So she sneaks to his study, but when she's nearly there, she gets caught by a bunch of guards, and makes a break for it. She bursts into the study, only for the guards to catch her. They apologise to notch for disturbing him, and try to drag her away while she's shouting about what she read in the journal.Notch tells the guards to leave them, much to their chagrin, but he stands firm. Isabella tells notch some of what she read in the journal and what the old man said, although she kept some of the stuff hidden. Notch asks for the journal, which Isabella gives (Noooo!). He asks Isabella if she told anyone else, and after she says no (feeling very skeptical of notch seeing as he was acting very sketchy) he burns the journal in a fireplace. He reveals that he wants Herobrine to do it, so he could finally beat him. (Basically, it's simply notchs big ego that makes him want to risk millions of lives, just to prove Herobrine wrong.) Notch calls in the guards, and they take Isabella to the dungeons. She beats herself up for a while, when suddenly Steve pops into the picture. It turns out that notch had gotten impatient, because while Steve was to be King veeeery soon, notch would become the ruler of the aether after Naomi had died. So after Naomi died, he became veeeery happy! But then, he realised how boring it was, and that he wouldn't be able to take Herobrine down from there, and one day after Herobrine had attacked Steve, he faked steves death and locked him up in the dungeons- the most secure part. Steve was still like Italy though- he was very forgiving and kind. Anyways, once that happened, Isabella took a file from Steve. Steve wasn't able to use it because he was constricted from moving. Isabella dives into da river and files away at the bars, and boom! She's free! From the journal, she gathered that Herobrine would be in the nether, (Cassandra tried to merge the non-player areas of the nether and the aether together, so she and Naomi could judge the souls, but Naomi didn't want that. That's also why notch didn't want to go to the aether- because it was in disarray.) and since Steve said all of the nether portals were destroyed because mobs would swarm the area, she realised that the only portal left would be the one in the ruins. By now, notch realised that Isabella had escaped, and ordered the 'police force' to capture all the players, using the excuses that they kept on making nether portals, and completely ignored the rules, and that they were probably part of Herobrine's plan. Isabella finds the horse she had before, and rides it back to the ruins, all the while dogs and stuff are chasing her. But for some reason the nether portal won't open. (After Herobrine went into hiding although everyone thought he died, he made the nether portals unable to work, unless they had a nether star, and as far as he knew, he was the only one who had one) the people start closing in on her, when she holds her necklace (which is what she's absentmindedly done throughout the entire story) and backs into the frame. Suddenly, the necklace starts glowing, and she gets teleported to the nether. She goes unconscious, and after she wakes up, she's there! Using the journal, she tries to find the stronghold that Herobrine met Cassandra at. After being attacked multiple times, she finally finds it- only for the stronghold to be heavily fortified. Isabella decides to simply Break in (which she notes she's been doing a lot of that lately). She decides to go in through the dungeons, since they barely had any guards, and finds that everyone is still alive! ...Ish? Yeah, they're being used as power sources. For what? Why, a weird-looking-ginormous-probably-Armageddon-inducing-machine! Lol, jk, it's a machine that will merge all the planets together... Including the planet that the original four came from. You know, it's the usual run-of-the-mill take over the world(s) bad guy plot. So, Isa decides to try and break it. Before she does, however, a wild Herobrine appears! Plus, she's surrounded. So anyways, Herobrine acts all bad-guy-e, when Isabella asks why. Why did Herobrine listen to Cass? Why did he turn evil and kill people? And so on and so forth, Herobrine asks Isa what she knows, and she tells him that she's been told that Herobrine is a born monster, completely evil and power hungry. However, Isabella then whips out Herobrine's old journal, and explains that she read up to him meeting Cass, but the rest of the pages were blank. She says that she is veeery confused. So Herobrine, being the lovely psychopathic gentleman that he is (not), tells her the rest of the story that no one told. Isabella starts crying and muttering curses under her breath, which means it's Herobrine's turn to be veeery confused. Isa talks about how she thinks that he's not the bad guy, when suddenly Herobrine decides to flip a table and go all psycho on Isa, and she is taken to the dungeons. Note: Herobrine never explained why he started killing innocent people, plus he went cray cray for a reason- mostly because IT'S ALL A FACADE. He made a deal that he cannot go back on, so now he's drowning in a sea of his own creation. The deal was that the king of Elictros would let Cass be freeeeee again, and gave him the power to do so, but the catch is the amulet Herobrine wears- it makes you evil and reaaaaaally powerful, and also allows the King to communicate w/ Herobrine. Which means that he can make Herobrine do essentially whatever he wants, due to his unstable and easily manipulated mind. So yeah, the King of Elictros is the true villain of this story! :D Anyways, once Isa is in the dungeons, she starts to lose hope. After all, she was supposed to defeat Herobrine, and save everyone! But she couldn't even save herself, nor could she land a hit on the villain. And so, Isabella sat there, drowning in her thoughts and started crying, listening to the echoing screams of people that were being tortured/in the machine/who knows what else. Sooo yeah. Her friends were gone. (Note to self: add friends in the storyline above. Make sure a couple die/betray her.) Just when she thought she had hit rock bottom, a voice ringed out. It was... Jake! The guy that defended her. They talk for a while. Isabella starts to grow even more guilty. It escalates into a very loud verbal fight, and the guards move him away to be executed. Once again, a voice rings out, and this time it was Nathan, AKA Hearth (but she didn't know that) the guy she met during Stow Away. They talk, (geez there's a lot of dialogue in this chappie!) and Isabella grows determined. Again, the guards came to take Nathan away, but he fights back even as Isabella told him not to. During the fight, Isabella gets knocked out. When she awoke, Nathan was gone. This made her sort of sad, but then she notices something glinting inside her cell- the key! Nathan had fought back to get the key to her cell. This makes her be all like: I WONT LET MAH SENPAI'S SACRIFICE BE IN VAIN!! And snuck out. Lol, I'm joking. She made a plan first-because charging into a fight against Herobrine worked out SO well last time. Which was: meh I dunno break a couple people out and make a small army, and then use his secret weakness against him that she read in the journal when she was randomly skimming over random pages.
