Ellie's Pov

I woke up to Sophia screaming. My first instinct is to grab my gun and run to her. When I get to her room I realized that she just had a nightmare. She grabbed my hand and asked me to stay with her. I promised her that I wasn't leaving. There was a knock on the door and I told her to get dressed and that I would be right back.

When I got downstairs, I opened the door. The person who was at my door surprised me. It was Chin. He asked if I could come in. I allowed him to enter. Something is off. Sophia came running downstairs to see who it was. She wasn't the best listener just like her father. 

"Hey Ellie. I'm here because Danny didn't want to deal with trying to learn who Sophia's dad is. He knows you aren't going to tell him." Chin said.

"He is right about that. Sophia your aunt Rachel should be here soon to take you to school with Gracie. Why don't you go make your lunch?" I suggested.

Chin was surprised that Rachel knew about Sophia while Danny had no idea. I explained that when I permanently moved to Hawaii a couple of years ago I got into contact with her because I wanted Sophia to know her cousin. He was shocked that I have been living in Hawaii for a few years. Chin was the first person who seemed to genuinely want to help me keep my secret about Sophia's father. I explained to him why she was named Sophia. Then I told him that it was Steve who told me that. After I said that Rachel opened the door to pick up Sophia. She ran to her aunt and hugged her. 

"Hey Ellie. Chin. He knows I'm guessing." She said.

I nodded to tell her that her observation was correct. She told me that I need to at least tell her dad the truth. I said that I almost did the other day. She wasn't surprised to hear that. Rachel then took the girls to school. Chin asked if I was cool with hanging out at HQ and helping out once and awhile with the investigation that they are working on. I was happy to help in any way that I could. 

Steve's Pov

Ellie and Danny are twins. Catherine broke up with me. Ellie has a daughter. This is all just crazy. There is more to Catherine breaking up with me than not wanting to put me through all of that craziness that has happened in the past. Ellie has always trusted me with everything that goes on in her life. Why didn't she tell me about her daughter? I walked into the office and it was empty like normal. I was always the first person there.

"Wow Stevie it seems like its just us." A voice said behind me.

"Ellie what the hell?! I could have shot you." I said.

She said but I didn't. I asked why and how did she get here. Ellie explained everything about Chin and Danny. Great so she probably told Chin who Sophia's dad is. To be honest it would terrify me if she was mine. We started talking like it was old times again. It was nice because Ellie was one of the first people who I ever fell in love with. But after she left I asked Catherine to go out with me and I fell in love with her. Yet seeing Ellie again something reminded me of the love that I had felt for her. It made me remember the first time that I had meet Ellie. 

It was a nice summer evening. She was wearing her casual clothes since we didn't need to be wearing our uniforms for a few weeks. It was interesting to see her. She had her natural blonde hair and her tips were dyed a striking pink that showed off her personality. Most SEALs stick with the dress code, but Ellie was always a rebel.

"Stevie, earth to Stevie." Ellie said.

"Sorry I was just thinking about something." I said.

Ellie's Pov

Steve was acting strange. Maybe I should tell him the truth. I shook the thought out of my head. I can't tell him and leave Danny in the dark. Somehow I have to tell both of them together because if I tell only one of them and then the other finds out the other knew. There is going to be hell to pay and I'm going to be the one paying for it.

Steve was telling me about the case and that I would probably just be staying here because Danny would kill both of us if I went out into the field. I knew that he was right but I could be useful out in the field. Soon Danny come in to the offices and saw me and Steve talking. He saw the way that we worked together and could understand how we were able to get along so well. 

"If you guys are done being a couple. I would like to get to work." Danny said.

"We're not a couple Danno." Steve and I said together.

Danny just laughed at us. Chin and walked in with breakfast for everyone just as Kono got there. I thanked him for my food. When I looked at Steve he had the same thing. Blueberry pancakes with extra syrup. We looked at each other and laughed. Danny rolled his eyes. What is up with him? Normally he would be pissed with someone acting like this around me.

Danny's Pov

Ellie was flirting with Steve and I could tell; she really liked him. Something about Steve's body language told me he liked her as well. Yet neither of them could see it. I looked at Chin from the  way he was watching them told me he knew who the father was but I knew that he wouldn't tell me. 

"Danno, can we talk for a bit?" Ellie asked.

I nodded and we went to my office. She told me the story about how this all happened without giving away to much information. I knew that she wanted to keep Sophia's dad's identity hidden but all I want to know is the father that abandon her and their child. I told her that she is always welcomed to talk to me about anything. She thanked me and said that one day she might take me up on that offer.

Ellie's Pov

It was almost time for school to be out and that meant Rachel would start dropping Sophia off here at HQ after school so that way I can take her home after work. I walked outside and saw Rachel's car. Sophia had seen me and got out of the car and ran to me and gave me a hug. I thanked my ex-sister in law for doing this. She said that she loved Sophia. 

Sophia and I walked back into the building. When we entered the room where the team was, everyone gave me a weird look. I told them since her father doesn't know about her that she is with me when she isn't at school. Steve gave me an office to use. I told Sophia that if she had any homework to finish it and if she had any questions to come and ask me. Steve looked at me with concern. He has no right to give me a look like that. Yet at the same time I don't have the right to hide the fact that he has a daughter from him if what happened between us and we were both totally conscience of what happened.

I saw that we were getting a call from the M.E.. This was going to be fun. I haven't meet this guy yet. Before he even started talking about why he called he asked who I was. He was very strange but it was a good kind of strange. Steve explained who I was. Max said that he found something that I might be able to help with. I asked him what he meant. He said that he found a piece of paper that told him that the victim was just a message. I told Steve that I'll go check it out. He wasn't very keen on that idea but if what Max was saying was true she needed to be the one to read the note. 

Danny stayed with Sophia. He was trying to get her to say who her dad was. I've trained her well enough for her not to say anything. Steve took me to meet Max and read the note. When we got there Max was glad to see Steve and happy to met me. 

"Max where is the note?" I asked. 

"I thought that it was strange because it wasn't addressed to any of the members of Five-0. But when Steve said your name I knew that the message was for you." He explained.

He showed us the note. It had my name on it but there was something off about the letter. I asked Max if he had done the usual test to make sure no biological weapons were on the letter. He nodded. I examined the hand writing before I opened it. Something was familiar, it was written in crusive and was more than likely written by a woman. When I opened it I was surprised by what it was.
