Winter was approaching fast. The temperature was beginning to drop. There was still no sign of any snow.
Anna really wanted it to snow soon, she wanted to take her little daughter out to play in the snow. She had never seen snow before and since she would be seeing it most of her life she would have to get used to it at some point.
"Please can you make it snow. Please." Anna begged Elsa.
"For the last time the answer is no."
"What's no?" Edan asked walking towards them.
"Elsa wont make it snow." Anna pouted.
"Why not?" Edan asked.
"Because I don't want to make Rose's first snowfall one made by me, I want it to be natural." Elsa said.
"But Elsa..."
"No buts, that's final."
Three days have gone by and there was still no sign of any snow. The water had begun to freeze and he temperature had dropped rapidly. Besides that, no snow.
Anna was getting restless. She began knocking on Elsa's door at night, singing her "do you want build a snowman" song.
Elsa could hardly get to bed from that.
She also kept falling asleep during council meetings.
Edan would quickly wake her before any other council members noticed.
Finally after so long of waiting, it began to snow.
"Come on Rose." Anna said, picking up her daughter. "Time to see your fist snowfall."
She wrapped her up in a blanket and brought her down to the entrance hall.
Edan, Kristoff and Olaf were already there.
"Where's Elsa? Anna asked.
"Probably asleep, I'll go get her." Edan said.
"Don't bother." Elsa came from around the corner with a tired look on her face.
Her hair was disheveled, she was rubbing her eyes, and she looked like she had just come out of a zombie movie. (Not that any of them would know what that was)
Anna and Kristoff wore jackets, while Elsa and Edan wore their everyday clothes.
They walked out into the garden. Anna gave Rose to Kristoff, while she and Elsa went to build a snowman friend for Olaf.
Edan went and sat down in the snow. He never used to play in the snow that much, looks like he had more in common with Rose than he thought.
Edan just lied in the snow, listening to Anna and Elsa giggling as they played around.
At least until he noticed he was getting a little wet.
The snow around him had started to melt, Edan jumped up and backed away from the snow.
He didn't want to flood the garden.
He looked over to see Anna walking over to pick up Rose. She brought her out and sat down in the snow with her. She brought a small clump of snow up to Rose.
"This is snow." Anna said to her. "Can you say snow?"
Edan rolled his eyes.
Anna was one of those parents who would try to get her daughter to try and repeat whatever she said.
Edan then felt something cold hit the back of his neck.
He turned to see Elsa holding snowballs.
"What was that for?" Edan shouted.
He would have used his powers to make fireballs, but those were much more deadly. Instead he created a wall of fire to protect himself.
He grabbed a chunk of snow, molded it into a ball, and threw over the wall at Elsa. He missed by a long shot. Edan then noticed the ground below him began to shake a little.
A small snow pillar came up from the ground and hit Edan right in the face.
Anna laughed from behind him.
If she wasn't holding Rose, Edan would have thrown a snowball at her.
Instead he grabbed another clump of snow and made it into a snowball.
He then opened a small hole in the firewall and threw the snowball through. It hit Elsa square in the chest.
Elsa threw ice magic at the fire wall and it instantly froze over it.
That was the problem with there powers at times, they were evenly matched. Edan could melt Elsa's ice, but she could put out his fire.
Edan moved off to the side of the wall ready to throw a snowball. But as soon as he moved away from the wall he was pummelled by snowballs.
He was covered in snow. Anna had burst out laughing. Edan couldn't take Anna laughing at him much longer.
Edan molded another snowball in his hand and threw it at Anna.
Anna shielded Rose as she was hit in the face. "Edan I'm holding Rose right now."
Edan just rolled his eyes and leaned back into the snow.
Anna held Rose out in front of her and tried to get her to stick her tongue out to catch a snowflake.
Rose just looked at Anna as if she was crazy, but that's what little close to one year olds do.
While Anna kept trying to get Rose to stick her tongue out Edan walked over to where Elsa was. He found her laying in the snow with her eyes closed. She looked asleep.
"Aw" Edan said looking down at her.
He picked her up gently bringing her over to the bench that Kristoff was sitting on.
He set her down gently.
Edan sat down next to her.
Kristoff went to go join Anna in playing in the snow.
"I think Elsa's had enough for one day." Edan called out to Anna and Kristoff.
Anna took one look at her sister and nodded.
Edan picked up Elsa and brought her inside, he took her to her room. He layed her down in her bed and left her there. He was closing the door when he saw Elsa stir in her bed. Edan walked back over and sat on her bed beside her.
Elsa's eyes opened slowly.
"Hey Elsa." Edan said with a smile.
"Where are we?" Elsa asked sleepily.
"Your room, you fell asleep in the snow." Edan said.
"Oh ok." Elsa said closing her eyes again. "Night Elsa." Edan said kissing her forehead.
Edan got off her bed and walked over to the window. He saw Anna and Kristoff playing with Rose in the snow.
Well Rose had had a good experience with the cold...now how would she do with the heat.
