Hibari POV

I woke up early this morning because today Emi-San was going to start the beans early.

Maybe I should go get her. She may oversleep and forget.

I left to get her. I showed up and rang her doorbell. She answered pretty quickly and was dressed. So she didn't forget.

"Hey. You want to walk to school?" I asked.

"Uhh... I'm actually having breakfast right now. You want to join?" She said slightly startled.

"What is it?"

"Oatmeal."

"Sure. You better not have burned it again" I said going in.

"Again? I don't remember ever burning oatmeal" she said closing the door and following me.

"You did a few times when we were kids. It was your favorite breakfast food and you tried to help my mother but messed it up. You never did get it right." I slightly laughed but then stopped short. Is it okay to laugh? I don't think so.....

When we got back to the kitchen, I stopped.

"Who was it--" Kei started when he turned around.

"..." I stood silent.

"Kyo-kun. Kei showed up a bit earlier. I invited him in, too. He's a pretty good friend." She said uneasy.

"Hn?" But why did he come? Was it planned? It is pretty early. Suspicious.

"Come. It's fine. He's a friend" she tried to calm me.

"Yo. I'm sorry Hibari Kyoya. I was wrong back then and even a few days ago. But I'm changing my ways. I'm turning a new leaf. Please forgive me or at least let me prove myself" Kei pleaded.

I kept looking at him silently thinking. Then walked over to where Emi-san had fixed me a bowl. I sat and looked at her.

"Looks like you finally figured it out." I joked.

She smiled. "Put your sugar how you like." She chirped and went back to her seat.

Despite his unease because of me, Kei talked to Emi-San.

"So how do you think you did on that pop quiz?" He asked.

"It was easy. Too easy. I probably got a one hundred." Emi answered.

"It was easy but not sure. I did get stuck on some. Those I guessed."

"I could explain the ones you got wrong."

"Really? Thanks"

"Today, I'll be busy. I'm going to patrol for the Disciplinary Committee" Emi said.

"Okay. Sure. You want me to take notes for you?" He asked.

She chuckled some. "Sorry. I just can't read your handwriting. I'll get them from Kyoko-San or Haru-Chan. Thanks anyway."

We finished, she rinsed out the bowls and got her bag. Then we left.

I stayed quiet while Kei and Emi-San talked. Emi-San attempted to get me to join the conversation but I wouldn't. Why? I don't know. I...... really don't know. I felt like I could always talk to her about anything but I couldn't talk then. Maybe it was because they were happy..... or I felt misplaced. I did. I felt like a third wheel.

We made it to the school early and because Kei didn't want to go in, he left to find his friends. Eni-San and I went in and to our little kitchen.
