"Hey Squalo-San. You're here still? But I thought you left? And Reborn? You're here too. What's wrong?" My voice was a monotone. I was confused and just wanted to be alone for a bit. I wanted to sort out some things.

"Well, I was just looking in and saw Squalo here. Who was that lady by the way?" Reborn asked bluntly.

"Ruri Brenckle. That was her name." I looked to Reborn. My eyes said not to say a word of MY last name. I continued. "And Squalo-San, Ruri and I all bumped into each other the other day. First, Ruri asked me my thoughts on a problem they had. What I don't know is why she would ask a total stranger. Then, some people attacked Squalo and I helped fight them. Then they showed up at my door and Ruri was hurt so I let them in. How they got here is beyond me."

"I was coming to check on the young Vongola brat. I heard he has been talking of me to outsiders." Squalo hissed.

"Hmm. Alright then. But Emi is fine. She's very trustworthy. So no need to talk to Tsuna." Reborn said.

Squalo looked at him then to me. He just kept staring at me. I got a bit uncomfortable.

"Okay. Is that it? I'm tired and have things for the disciplinary committee to do tomorrow." I was a bit pushy but who wouldn't be if someone was staring you down.

Squalo exited without another word. Reborn stayed, though, as expected.

"So. Ruri Brenckle? Do you know her?" Reborn asked.

"I am not sure. I believe that was the name of my mother and I had a bit of a flashback earlier. But it wasn't clear and alternated between my mom and someone else. I didn't get a good image in my head. So confusing. When is Checker Face coming back? He needs to explain things more." I planted my face in my pillow. What teenager goes through this? Any of it? Wait, I'm in Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Blah!

Reborn said nothing. Instead, he disappeared. It didn't totally surprise me, just a little.

I tossed over and lied down on my bed, staring at the dark ceiling. I thought of things from the past; from my hazy memories.

"Mama. Mama. Guess what? I got an A+ on my math test again!" I was jumping up and down. Happy and proud of myself for doing great. "I got a 100 and then some bonus points."

Mama looked down at me. "Well that's great. Now would you be so kind as to go to the park or a friend's. I have someone coming over. I'll grade them on participation. Get going now." She said and brushed out her hair more. Her hair a silky white like mine, but was to her shoulders while mine went to below my shoulder blades.

"This happens a lot. Mama has her friends over a lot. I always go somewhere for a little while then, when I go home, she's a sleep and her friend is too. He always leaves in the morning. Mama doesn't pay any attention to me." I said. This was before I moved to Namimori. I was about 6 years old and talking to my Nii-Chan. I call him that because I don't know his real name. He has long white hair and we play swordsman a lot.

He's really good. I met him one day at the park when my mom had another friend over. He was on the swing and looked bored. I sat on the swing too because I was bored. We talked and became good friends.

I think he said he was 12. That's 6 years older than me.

"Heh. Don't worry. I think you did good on your test. How about we go get ice cream?" Nii-Chan asked

"No. First, food. Then dessert. Hamburgers!" I cheered.

"Okay. Sure. Let's go." And we left the park and got hamburgers.
