Introduction!
Of course I will miss the waves crashing against the shore of Coconut beach, the breeze that came off the ocean when the day faded, the heat against my skin, the wind in my hair as I rode the waves and my best friend. I will always miss my best friend. But Florida didn't have that young wild and free affect anymore. In fact, the sand lost its warmth. It felt like snow between my toes. Ever since Luke died, so did everything else. Luke Harrison was my best friend. He was like the male version of me. We've been through thick and thin since the age of 5. Every inch of this place reminded me of his crooked, heart throbbing smile. His simple but effective laughter. His deep sea green eyes. And the glow of his tan skin, or how he always knew what was on my mind. No one else in this world understood me like Luke. No one. We had this connection. I could've sworn I was inlove with him. Nobody knew that and I was too late to tell him.
He died the day before my 17th birthday. At the funeral, his mom gave me a birthday card from him and he had hand-made me some anklet braclets. And gave me a ticket to London, England.
Lani,
I know how bad you want to go to London to sell your song demos. And I know how much you love Florida. But you're amazingly talented, so please. Go to London when you're 18! I want to see a happy Lani:) Btw, dont worry. I'll go with you and test out the waves ;) Happy birthday Miss thang! Haha.
Love, Luke.
I was happy when you were here.

After 4 months of his death, people got over it. Yeah of course they missed him still, but they stopped moaping around. Unlike me. My depression grew bigger and bigger. I didn't go outside that much anymore. I stayed home and just stared at the ceiling as I lay in bed. Sleep seemed like a better place. My skin was left with a little tan. My friends eventually stopped talking to me cause I wasn't the same. Every night I cried myself to sleep. My tye-dye surf board was now covered in dust as it rested there in the corner of my cozy room. When those four months passed, I became homeschooled. After a while, my parents decided to ship me off to London. Before everything had happened, England was all I talked about. I agreed to go. Not because I was excited about London, but because Luke would want me to go. Jaz, the only friend I had left, was a pen pal from London. She had a room set up for me and told me I would love the apartment.
So, here I am aboard the plane staring out the window at the marshmellow looking clouds. A seventeen year old girl was about to live in the most beautiful city in the world, and all she can do is stare in space wondering how things would be if her soul mate had not died. I closed my sea green eyes, and leaned my head back onto the chair. I let out a genlte breath. Please save me London I thought to myself. In all hopes, there better be someone waiting for me there.
