I carry a heavy box towards my new apartment door. An old woman sat out on a lawn chair on the top of her apartment steps next door. I notice theres another apartment on the other side of mine. A few preteen girls ran up the stairs of it, squeeled, rang the doorbell, and ran off giggling.
"Excuse me?" I say. The gray hair lady growled. "Hm?" She moans. Okay, she deifantly is not the neighborly type. "Who lives there?" I say pointing to the apartment to my left as I try to support the heavy box with one hand. "Just some noisy, delinquent, boys. They haven't been there in a month though," she groans. "Oh."
Looking for the door key in my pocket, I drop the box down the short flight of stairs. The big picture frame of Luke and I had fallen out. Ignoring all the other stuff, I make my way to the frame. I pick it up making sure the glass didn't break. Just my luck. It did. "Ugh." I moan. The old woman is laughing. God she's evil.

"Well, Luke. I made it," I sigh as I place the picture onto the kitchen counter. I look around the empty room. There was a good sized living room, a hall consisting of a bathroom and two rooms. Then a nice kitchen where I stood. A window was placed on the kitchen wall. The veiw was my unknown noisy, delinquent neighbors. The buildings were so close together, it was nearly a crack between our homes. I don't feel the need for curtains. I don't think the boys live there anymore if the old, scary lady had said its been a month since they appeared.
The place was empty. Including the fridgerator that came with it. I grabbed my bag and house keys.
"Taxi!" I yell as the cabs drive pass me. After 5 ignoring me, one finally noticed.
I slide in the back. "Is there any cafes around here?" I ask. The sweet old man smiles. "Yes, dear. Around the corner actually."
The door dings as I open it. I walk up to the counter and come face to face with a freckled boy. "One frappicino please."
I sit down in a booth by myself. A flat screen appeared on the wall before me. Five British boys were shown. According to the television, they were currently the most popular boy band around the world. Of course, I wouldn't of known that seeing how I slept for about 4 months. They're called One Direction.
A hear a vibrate on the table where I set my bag. I reached in to grab my phone.
Jaz: Furniture shopping tomorrow xx
Me: Okay!
It was nice having a friend again. All my other friends have forgotten about me back home. It was my fault. Though Jaz was my pen pal and tomorrow will be the first time face to face, she was like my diary since Luke died. I wonder if that will change now we will actually get to hang out?
**********
It's scary laying on this matress in an empty dark room alone. I've gotten use to it. Back home thats practically what I did. I was alone. Before Luke died, I didn't have to worry about that. Hell, I didn't even have a care in the world. I missed that.
I roll over and hide myself under my hood of my jacket. I drifted off to sleep.
