(Hey guys! Just quickly: this song that I've added is a song from a friend in mine back in Alaska. Hope the song was a good choice for the duel. Cheers folks!)
As I was getting my stuff ready for my time at the Academy again, Syrus decided to ring up and come round my hotel room.
After my duel against Crowler, a lot of the new students were coming up to me and were saying how awesome I was at duelling. Syrus was one of them, and he immediately asked me if I could stay over at my hotel room since he was already done packing his stuff just in case he got through. Since he did, he was looking for a place to stay, so I allowed him to stay until tomorrow when we had to leave for the ride to Duel Academy.
"How did you get these monsters of yours?" he asked me, as he individually looked at my cards which were spread out on the nearby coffee table.
I smiled, looking over my shoulder as I was folding up several of my clothes. "I liked the concept of the Elemental HERO's, since I could fuse them together to create stronger ones. The Neo-Spacians are a different story. They're my own creation."
"You created these?!" Syrus exclaimed, picking up my Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab card. "Wow! I never knew you created them! When did you get them?"
"I was sixteen at the time when I got them," I explained, deciding that I could tell him at least one of my stories, without explaining that I was in fact from the future. "I was about five when I first created them. KaibaCorp was introducing a Duel Monsters designing competition, where you could create your own cards, which I thought was a sweet idea - having your own monsters of your own design. The winning designs would then get sent into space, because at that time there was some sort of cosmic force that would make the cards more powerful. My Neos designs got sent up into space, and I got them back years later."
Syrus looked at my cards in awe. "Awesome!"
Then he looked at my most valued cards - Yubel and Winged Kuriboh. He picked up Kuriboh. "How come you got this card in your deck?"
I smiled as I took Kuriboh out of his hand. "It was a gift from a friend of mine. I had this little guy for years, and I always treasured it. That and my Yubel card."
Syrus looked at my childhood card. "Well, I admit she ones seem powerful. Heck, being a ten star monster, it must be strong. But she doesn't seem to fit the theme of your deck, so why have her in it?"
I smiled, knowing full well that Yubel was by my side, listening to my every word. "Let's just say that I have a deep connection with that card. That, believe it or not, was my first ever card as far as I remember. I always thought that it was one of the coolest and sweetest cards I could ever have in a deck. If I could turn to one card to save me, I know she would be the one."
Yubel smiled, looking ready to cry with tears of pure happiness.
Suddenly, the door knocked, making Syrus jump. I frowned slightly, wondering who was knocking. I opened the hotel room, and saw one of the staff members there.
"Hi, is this Mr Yuki's room?" she asked kindly.
"Yeah, that's me," I said.
"Oh, good," she smiled, handing out a letter. "I was asked to give you this letter."
"Really?" I said with wide eyes, grabbing the letter. "Thanks!"
The staff lady nodded, and walked down the hallway. I closed the door, and stared at the letter.
"Who's it from?" Syrus asked, looking up.
I shrugged, opening the letter. "I have no idea, Sy. But I'm about to find out."
