Welcome To Hell

The academy was white and colonial looking, like the US White House in DC. There were flags hanging from the roof's overhang printed with the school's crest.
Alyssia rambled to Kaia facts about this school like when it was built and 'notable' alumni and crap like that. We swam towards the golden door held open by a merman wearing a navy blue uniform with epaulettes. He nodded at us as we entered a huge foyer with hallaways, doors and staircases. The floor was pearlescent bright white quartz that glistened under the soft, yet bright natural lighting.
"Follow me now princesses. We need to go on a quick tour of the school before first period."
We followed Alyssia like lost ducklings in a huge new pond.
"These halls have stood for hundreds of years on the ocean floor. They have taught many students of royalty all over the ocean."
I stopped to look at the at the grand staircase we were about to swim up to the next floor. It was wide with thick railing and there were many steps. I wonder why the steps are there, no mermaid or merman would ever use them, so I guess it's just for style.
Alyssia touched my shoulder, subtly urging me forward.
"Come on, girls, let's get moving."
We swam up the stairs to another foyer that split two hallways. Alyssia led us down the right hallway. She pointed us to a door on the left side. This is your math class. The next door is your social studies, then science, then English is the last door."
KAIA'S POV
Alyssia seemed out of breath. I'm sensing her mind runs faster than her mouth.
A boy wearing a ticket in dark real tee shirt, the same color as my clothing swam near us. Alyssia immediately recognized his platinum blonde hair and brilliant blue eyes and waved him over.
"Oh! Hello, River!"
I could already tell River was one of the shyest people I would ever meet. I read a book mom gave to me about reading someone's thoughts based on body language, and River having his hands in his pockets, head down and a shy smile meant my thoughts were true. I could have already thought he knew Alyssia, but with my powers I know. He met Alyssia when she was teaching at Leiken Kingdom in Australia. I've never heard of Leiken before, but I could already picture the clear blue water surrounded with scary looking, but surprisingly non-violent sharks.
"Uh, hey Alyssia." River's accent was like Louis' from H2O Just Add Water, but a little softer and higher.
"Kaia, this is River Lea! I used to tutor him back when I lived in Leiken."
Called it.
River stuck his bashful hand out and we shook.
"I'm Kaia," I pointed to Nadia cautiously scanning the hallway. "And right over there is my sister Nadia."
"Pleased to meet you." River blushed. "Alyssia, I can take it from here."
Alyssia seemed shocked and even I, being a mind reader didn't know why.
"Wow! Well, um, thank you, River! You girls have a nice time now!"
