Beating Heart (Neji X Reader)

Prologue

It was just like every other normal day. You were heading towards the academy with your best friend Hinata. She was looking around hoping to spot someone she finds very precious to her. Oh course you knew who it was.

"Are you looking for him?"

"W-what?! No I wasn't!"

Her blush said otherwise, you just didn't want to push it. You sighed and continued on walking the same direction. You manage to catch the attention of many guys, but you just kept on walking.

"So Hinata-chan, who do you want in your team whenever we become Genin?"

"Hmm... You! And um... I guess.. Well.. Naruto." She said the last part very fast but what you two didn't see was that Naruto was right behind you.

"What about me?" Hinata couldn't speak so you spoke for her.

"We were just saying how you always wanted to become Hokage, that we will both support you in your way to accomplish your dream! Right Hinata?" She nodded and he only smiled.

"Thanks you guys! Well gotta go before duck-butt gets there!" He waved at the both of you before leaving.

It was a nice quiet time until you heard the squeals of these girls in your class. You immediately knew what was going on. Sasuke Uchiha. Both of you guys are good friends, even the fan girls seem to like you as well. You greeted them and they all turned there attention towards you while that gave Sasuke a chance to escape.

He was fast but the girls already knew where he was heading. They all said good bye to me and left, Hinata seemed to be deep in thought before you two headed towards the class room where Sakura immediately asked Hinata to sit with her, you said it was okay, and saw that the only two empty seats were next to Naruto and Sasuke.

Like you didn't want Hinata to think something wrong you sat next to Sasuke who didn't mind at all. The fan girls knew you didn't like him so they never got mad if you sat next to him or talked with him. Well the talking part is mainly you talking while he's just ignoring you.

"Thanks." He said in a whisper.

"For what?" I asked.

"Back there." You nodded and soon Iruka came in. He said it was the beginning of who will become Genin.

First up was Sasuke. Everyone got up from there seats and went to talk with there friends. It took really only about an hour to finish everyone up, you smiled as you saw everyone except Naruto. Hinata seemed very sad, you went up to her and hugged her.

Now tomorrow everyone was going to find out who they will have in there team. You were excited, but just hoped you will get Hinata, it will be way more fun if she was around. You went to go back to your seat and grabbed your lunch... Lunch was just so amazing, you love food but your not aloud to eat as much as you want because of your parents.

As you pulled out your peanut butter and jelly sandwich you felt as if someone was starring at you eat. You looked and saw Sasuke, just starring. You just put the sandwich evenly and gave one side to sasuke.

"I don't want it."

"Of course you don't." You said sarcastically, but as you were about to take it away he just grabbed it and you begin to laugh. You ate everything and then packed all your food.

The rest of the school day it was fun and exciting. There was a lot of activities and competitions. You were the top in many class competitions, it was fun messing with everyone. Many guys tried messing with you because we'll... It's hard to mess with you. Your hard to make blush.

"Y-you know, y-you and my cousin N-neji are perfect for e-each o-other." Hinata said quietly but yet stuttering.

"Neji? Well I haven't met him or seen him so I really don't know. Maybe one day I'll get the chance." They all jaw dropped because you didn't blush or hesitate on what you said.

The rest of the day was like that. As you headed towards Hinata's house, you both were just playing with each other. Hinata is easy to embarrass her which gives you the advantage on many things.

The only reason why your going to Hinata's is because 1, your parents are on a mission and 2, you hate how Hinata's dad treats her. She opened the door to her house and you greeted her father who was doing some paper work for the clan. He greeted the two of you and you went ahead to go change so you and Hinata could train together.

Weird thing is, you and Hinata gave been training together since a very young age but you still managed to defeat her in many things. You pulled your hair up to a pony tail and put a sports bra on and leggings. Hinata did the same but like she has short hair she left it like that.

"Alright ready?" I asked her. She nodded and then here came the warm ups.

You and Hinata train for more then 3 hours, really until dark. You still kept on thinking about who that Neji kid was, whoever he was, Hinata seems to be a big fan of that guy.
