Beating Heart (Neji X Reader)

Chapter 5

Just when arriving to Konoha, I greeted the gate keepers. They did the same and we just entered, I saw everyone there. All of my friends sadly I couldn't run up to them. My father and mother were also in town surprisingly.

"Mama, Papa!!" I yelled out. Kurenai-sensei came with me towards them. They all looked relieved but when seeing me almost all damaged they all stared at each other.

"Hello there sweetheart, I see your little mission got you all bundled up." I nodded and then here came the part where Kurenai-sensei just tells them what happened and all.

"---And so to protect her best friend she jumped right in front of her so she wouldn't die. I'm telling you this little girl of yours is a true ninja, she will protect her friends even if it meant killing herself. But sad thing is, the person who caused her to be in a coma for 3 days was the person she really cares about.. Itachi Uchiha."

My parents sighed, I didn't hear the beginning of the conversation. But I could tell they were not so happy, I stood there not wanting to say anything, hoping they aren't mad at me for no reason. My mother than held out her hand for me to grab which I did. I said goodbye to my sensei and walked with them.

"I told you to be careful." My father said.

"I was papa, but... Hinata needed my help, I wouldn't come to Konoha if she wasn't with me." I said honestly.

"But putting your life on the line, that's utterly ridiculous." I took that very offensive.

"Well then I'm sorry that I wanted to become a ninja to protect those I love. Isn't that what being a ninja is all about, protecting your people and friends and family? I told you papa, I am a ninja now, I chose to put my life on the line right there in that battle for the same reason you became a ninja." I let go of there hands and walked ahead.

I don't know why but I feel like this was a right choice. They have to understand that I am here to protect and if it means to put my life on the line that, so be it. Walking out the gates means the same reason as to putting your life on the line. My parents are just way to strong to even understand these things I am going through right now.

"Why you looking so down you donb?" I knew that voice anywhere.

"Hey Sasuke, I just got in a argument with my parents. So I have heard you went on a mission how was it?"

"It was alright, you went on one to didn't you?"

"Yeah, just got back from it."

"Was that your argument?"

"Yeah, my parents are just to dense to understand that even by stepping one foot out of the gates is dangerous. It turns out we went on a A-rank mission and met up with the Akatsuki, they were about to kill Hinata once I stepped in and took the hit. I know I shouldn't be saying his name but it was Itachi, I managed to cut him as well. But in the last 3 days I was in a coma, and my parents were really mad because of it."

"Well you are just a Genin and took on a A-rank mission, so they shouldn't be all surprised, everyone is going to get hurt." I nodded and looked at the sky.

"I was about to die right there, but something told me to keep holding on. He was so nice to me when he first saw me and then just left me there once he saw that he was the one that caused me to get hurt. Well what can I say he is an Akatsuki."

I sighed and then put my head on top of his.

"Thanks for listening to me cuz." He just Hn' and then had to get up because of his team calling him. I was now all on my own, I stayed there on the bench feeling the wind glide through my hair.

It was such a beautiful day that not even a sunny day could beat it. I love having to be able to see all the kids playing ninja, and the animals with one another. Not even a regular person will be able to have that. Well anyway I was just having a nice time whenever I thought I heard somebody calling me.

"(Y/N)!!!" I stayed where I was, and looked around before a whole loads of guys came. I wish I could run. I stayed at my spot and they all flowered me with gifts.

I thanked them but soon enough I got very tired of there presence but thankfully I haven't a new best friends who got them out of my way. I smiled at him and he just looked at me with all of my get well soon gifts.

"Hey." I said.

"You seem to be have your hands full."

"You think?"

We both shared a good laugh and then had a great conversation. We laughed about the nonsense things and many others things we talked. Our hands accidentally touched which got us in a awkward state. I was there blushing but somehow just laughed.

"I guess between me and you, many things are going to be awkward." He nodded.

"Hey you guys need help?" I knew that voice!

The whole gang was there and went to go help me put all these presents in my house. My parents were there and we're awestruck when they saw all my gifts. The others then pulled something out and I got more get well soon gifts. They helped me see what I had and I was beat.

Clothes = 13 pairs
Shoes = 9 pairs
Blankets = 10
Food = 1 (Naruto)
Other = 5
How many gifts in total = 38 gifts

I smiled seeing everyone helping, and having fun in my oversized bedroom. But soon they all had to leave, leaving me all alone right now. For almost the whole night I was thinking what might happen tomorrow, well I be alright? Will something bad happen? Could something magical happen? What? I just kept thinking but soon fell asleep.
