CHAPTER-3

Sofie's POV;

6:50 pm;McArthur Estate;

"So,you're the woman my son married." Mrs McArthur addressed eyeing me disapprovingly and coldly.She is a beauty and look much younger than I expected.And I bet she'd be much more beautiful with a smile.

We're at the McArthur Estate facing Mr and Mrs McArthur,Gideon have not arrived yet and I'm so nervous.They don't attend the courtroom wedding and this is the first time I met them.

"Yes,I'm Sofie.Pleasure to meet you,both of you".Thank God my voice seems normal.

They don't even look at Jonah,who's silently watching his grandparents and listening.Mr McArthur still remain silent watching me so intensely just like his son and I'm trying very hard not to squirm.

After a few minutes we're sitting at a balcony overlooking a huge and beautiful garden lit by lamps.The maids serve us drinks and and snacks. The garden is truly beautiful with a large fountain in the middle,trees lining the and exotic flowers in every corner.

"The garden is very beautiful Mrs McArthur" I smiled trying to make a conversation.

"So,how much does your face cost?" Mrs. McArthur sneered.I nearly spit my drink."Excuse me!I'm afraid I don't know what you mean."

"Oh Come on!Don't play dumb,exactly how much does you pay to make your face look like Thea's face".

"Clarice" Mr McArthur groaned looking at his wife."Oh!Magnus look at her face.She clearly spend a pretty penny to look like Thea,so that he can marry our son.Its like looking at Thea's ghost."

MrMcArthur send a warning glare to his wife who pressed her her lips to a thin line and look quite pissed but finally remain silent.

I'm so flaaggerbasted I can't even speak I just watch the exchange between the couple with wide eyes.Is that how they think of me,a gold-digger who would undergo a plastic surgery to look like Gideon's ex-wife just to marry their son.Its so sick.

Yes!I have a crush on Gideon but I would never do such thing to get his attention.

Having feelings for my dead best friend's husband is terrible,absolutely terrible. Its plain awful.And I try my best to cast those feelings aside but its not easy let me tell you.Suddenly changing feelings for a man who have been my crush for 7years is not easy.

Do i look like Thea that much?

When I finished college,my friend Brie insisted I should have a makeover.So,she drag me to a hair saloon where they cut my hair, straigthen it and curl a bit at the end to get rid of my bushy hair, and change my brown hair to blonde.And I replaced my glasses with lens.And Brie and I went shopping to change my wadrobe.That's it,no plastic surgery,just a few changes here and there.I admit I totally look different and look a bit like Thea,but not that much,and to think I would do such thing....Its disgusting...

I'm so lost in thought I don't immediately realised Jonah pulling me.He make a faint sound "Oh!Jonah what is it?"

"Fie Fie,me pee"Jonah replied looking scared.

''Ok,Excuse us" faking a smile,I literally run.I see a maid and ask where the bathroom is.I'm glad for the interruption I seriously need a space.

The mansion is huge,really huge.One could easily get lost here and we carefully enter the bathroom.

After washing Jonah's hand,he look at me with his sad eyes "Fie Fie,Let's go home" .Poor child.He definitely felt the tension between the adults."Yes!Dear,we will after we finished dinner O.K.Promise".I promised and silently prayed Gideon would be here soon.Maybe the sombre mood would lighten a bit.
