Chapter 1: Not again

April's Pov

I wake up like every day and do my normal routine. I shower and change into black leggings with a loose thin navy sweatshirt. I put on mascara and eat breakfast. I'm soon out the door and walking to school. I lived right down the street. Guess who did also? Nordan. Just my luck. He would also be walking with friends to school. This time he had Max with him. Max was pretty much the meanest kid to me for the guys.

"Look who it is boys! My best emo friend!" Max says behind me. I keep my head down and listen to my music trying to ignore them.

"Come on April I'm only joking. You might just be goth for all I know" he laughs and high fives the boy next to him.

"Fuck off Max seriously" I say stopping and looking him dead in the guys. He comes close and loses his smile.

"April sweetie, no guy has ever dated you. Not even kiss you. You're so delicate. I could easily over power you also. Think about that the next time you disrespect me" Max says grabbing my sweatshirt. I start to run to school now. I could hear Max laughing.

End of the day

"Hey bestie" Max says closing my locker. I stop and look at him. At this point I don't even care anymore.

"Don't look at me like that" Max smiles and touches my hair. I quickly smack his hand away.

"What did you have daddy issues?" He says.

"Yo Max fuck off" Nordan says coming up to us.

"What?" Max says turning his attention to Nordan.

"Dude you know my dad left when I was younger. It hits me in the feels" Nordan says. Max gives him and weird look and walks away. Nordan turns his attention towards me.

"So want me to walk you home?" He asks.

"Nordan just because you helped me there doesn't mean I know who you really are. You just want to use me so I'm good. Thanks always for the help" I lock my locker and pull my backpack over my shoulder, walking away from Nordan.

Nordans Pov

I've known April since kindergarten. She always been a pretty girl to me. If she maybe let her true self show then the guys wouldn't hurt her. April always wore bright colors and was always smiling. She had plenty of friends. But I'm 8th grade her dad left. He didn't die thought. He left her with her mom and her little brother. Her mom didn't work a job so they pretty much had no money. I remember April talking to her one friend Maya that she needed to get out of school quickly to help her mom. Maya moved away freshman year so April was all alone. She is such a chill girl I don't know why she can't be her old self again. I have to talk to her.
