Sometime later...
Tokyo, Japan. 7:00
It was early morning, businessmen walked the streets of Shibuya while subways crowded with more people commuting to work and other places. The teenage boy struggled to get out of bed.
"Ugh...7:00..." Moaned Nikko, "Last year of high school, why can't I be done already?"
He finally got ready, put on some clothes and walked downstairs. He then got a quick breakfast of nattou and ate before he took the bus to school. After he was finished, he grabbed his bag and walked into the parking Bay to see his dad fixing a vintage car. Nikko had seen this car come into his dad's workshop, from the start, it looked barely recognizable, missing various parts and such. Though, Nikko was barely awake to even recognize what kind of car it even is still.
"What's this?" Yawned Nikko.
"My old car, from when I raced." Explained Isamu "A 1971 Nissan Skyline GTR (KPGC10), nicknamed the Hakosuka."
"I see, it's nice." Said Nikko getting ready to walk out. "I'm off."
"Wait." Said Isamu.
"What? I'm already late." Said Nikko as he brought his bag over his shoulder.
"School starts in an hour and it's just around the corner." Said Isamu.
"So?" Said Nikko.
"So, I'll be finished with this car in 6 hours...and I'll be leaving for a business trip with it too, and I won't be back for a while." Said Isamu.
"For how long?" asked Nikko.
"As long as it needs to take." Said Isamu. "I entrust you since you're almost an adult now."
"Right... I'll be off then." Said Nikko.
"Have a nice day at school." Said Isamu.
"I'll try to." Said Nikko.
The sight of his dad suddenly working on a car made Nikko reminisce of his memories back at Osaka with his friends, him helping his brother and dad when they're working on their cars, and going out for drives with his brother to test out the car. Even though it was four years ago, it was all still very sudden for him. He finally reached his school and went straight to his locker and entered in the combination.
"Tokyo got old, real fast." said Nikko.
Nikko was different from the crowd at his high school, he liked his friends, but at the same time, he still didn't feel like he fitted in. His friends would normally talk about video games while he would be into cars. He walked to his classroom and sat down at his seat, looking on his phone for the website, watching previous street races that had been recorded. He was the first to sit down in his class, which was very peaceful for him, considering there was no one around.
"I wonder when dad will help get me a car." Said Nikko. "I want to be like these guys, yet I don't have a car. I've watched Toshio drive many times, it can't be that hard...plus I got my license too..."
He passed the time by going on KaidoAttack, watching street racing videos and chatting with people who were online.
As Nikko was about to type down more, the bell rang. He quickly put away his phone and got ready for role call. The teacher walked in and the students greeted the teacher.
"Good morning, teacher."
"Good morning." The teacher responded. "It's time for role call, please listen for your name."
"Akiyama?"
"Here."
"Kurobane?"
"Here."
