走り屋:Hashiriya Chapter 5: 右僕の目の前で (Right in Front of Me)

Nikko woke up the next day well-rested. He got ready grabbed his bag and keys while heading down the stairs. He went into the garage and turned on the lights. The pearl white paint and carbon fibre shimmered brightly as the garage lights reflected off of the car. He sighed and unlocked his car to get inside. He started up the car and drove out of the garage. On the way to school, Nikko contemplated how he could win tonight's race. He wanted to win badly because he hated Masaru, and that his first encounter with him made Nikko hate him even more. He clutched the steering wheel harder as he remembered Masaru's egotistical remarks. Tonight was the night that Nikko is going to break Masaru's ego. He arrived at school in no time, as he pulled into the courtyard, his car turned heads. He pulled into the space next to Daisuke's RX7. As he got out, he received a lot of weird looks and heard a lot of negative whispering.

"That's him! That's the guy Kendo-san is going to race!"

"Kendo-san said he sucks."

"Really?"

Nikko took a slight offense to it, but he shook it off knowing Kendo-san wanted to get inside his head. He grabbed his bag and closed the door of his R34 and headed to class. As he walked through the hallway, more people looked at him weirdly.

"Kendo-san says he's gonna kick his ass."

"Kendo-san says he's all show and no go."

Nikko growled under his breath and stormed into the classroom. He started to get angry with all these rumors and hearsay's. He sat at his usual window seat and tried to cool down. Nishimura comes in and tries to get Nikko's attention.

"Oi-oi, Nakamura-san." whispered Nishimura. "Kendo-san is talk-."

"Nishimura...shut up." growled Nikko under his breath.

Nishimura backed away and sat down at his seat. Nikko put his head down and endured until lunch time so he could calm down by talking to Ayumi and Daisuke. When it was lunch time, he saw Ayumi and Daisuke sitting face to face talking. He walked up to their table and dropped himself onto the chair. Ayumi instantly read him.

"What's wrong?" asked Ayumi.

"I'm pissed." said Nikko.

"Oh, it's over." said Daisuke. "Once Nikko's mad, he won't stop until he proves his point."

"Daisuke knows." said Nikko. "All the things Kendo-san is saying about me..."

"Oh yeah..." said Ayumi.

Ayumi grabbed his hand.

"You can do it, I believe in you." said Ayumi.

Nikko saw the sparkles in her eyes as she said this.

"Jeez, get a room." said Daisuke.

"Not my fault you're alone." said Nikko.

"I'm going to recruit 2 more members after tonight." said Nikko.

"2 more?" asked Ayumi.

"Great, more people who I don't know." said Daisuke.

"Relax." said Ayumi. "The more the merrier."
