~Tyler~
We trudged up the hill, well I say we trudged it’s more like I trudged since Mark was at the top in thirty seconds. When I reached him I gazed down at the scene before me and I was captivated. There was a hugs forest that seemed to center around this one archway right in front of us that read: Camp Half-Blood. Mark seemed to be staring at me, waiting for an reaction so I grin and say, “Let’s go.” He smiles back and walks down the hill at a sort of trot. Mark gracefully reached the bottom while I slid scraping my hands along the rocks at the bottom. Wiping the dust off, I stared into the archway and saw a huge white ranch house with strawberry fields behind it. Standing at the porch at the house were two men, one was actually sitting in a wheelchair the other standing and pouring water into a cup.
As we neared them, I heard the man in the wheelchair say to the other, “Why, torture yourself? Do you like seeing wine turn into water?”
Sighing, the other replied, “How was I supposed to know he had a thing for that nymph? It’s not my fault he’s married.”
Once we reached them the one sitting laughed and said, “Ah Mark! Finally! We were wondering when you were going to show.”
Mark eyed the water pouring man nervously when he answered, “Well we rode the Chariot of Damnation and I ran out of Drachmas so we had to walk up the hill.”
The man sitting nodded like he completely understood how normal it was to run out of the Drachma things. Now I noticed that the wine pourer was eyeing me and I started to shift from foot to foot. Finally he says, “Hmm. I knew it. He’s just going to be another brat I have to take care of. Great. There’s only one kid in here who isn’t a brat and you know who I’m talking about Chiron.”
The guy named Chiron nodded and a look of pity came upon his face when he said, “Yes, you two do get along well. But sadly she’s still mad at us for not letting her go on the last quest. She’s been cooped up in here to long but you know she can’t leave because-“ he abruptly cut off as if realizing we were still here.
Mark spoke up to fill the silence. “Mr. D, I’m pretty sure that Tyler here is a son of Athena but he hasn’t been claimed yet. Should I still take him to Hermes’ cabin?”
A look of annoyance came upon Mr. D’s face as he waved us off while saying, “Yes, yes, he has to be claimed, you know the drill. Now Chiron I’ll have to say goodbye, I think it’s time I stopped Hannah from destroying the other campers in sword fighting, she still isn’t being challenged.”
Mark led me past the house onto this path that walked right by the strawberry fields while he chatted away. “You’re going to love it here all of the campers do. You can do everything, canoeing, sword fighting, archery, get Pegasus lessons, chariot races, oh and every Friday we have this game between cabins, we play Capture the Flag but be careful it can be really tough. Don’t worry about your mom not knowing where you are we’ll make something up. Do you know all of the Greek Olympians? No? Okay well there are the big three Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. We only have two campers here that are from one of the big three. Hannah Riley and Percy Jackson, daughter and son of Poseidon, we used to have a son of Hades here but he kinda disappeared. Oh wait we also have a son of Zeus but he just left to go on a quest, the one Hannah wanted. Whew was she mad! It was crazy! She was sitting in the bottom of the lake for hours! Don’t worry she can breathe underwater.
